You’ve heard me talk about Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics before and I’m beginning to wonder if the brand ever has a misstep–I have loved every single thing I’ve tried. The Liquid Mineral Foundation is no exception. I was skeptical to try it because Youngblood is best known for their mineral powder products and powder foundations do not work for my mature skin.

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics Liquid Mineral Foundation ($49) is perfect for us over 40 beauties with dry to slightly dry skin. The exclusive deep sea hydrating complex contains over 20 ocean minerals, nutrients and botanicals providing moisture with a radiant, dewy finish. This is the first “dewy” finish I have liked–most foundations I’ve tried that claim to be “dewy” look oily on my skin. This leaves my skin looking smooth and pretty much pore-free. I would not recommend it for oily skin as it will make you look oiler.

Youngblood Foundation

Youngblood Liquid Mineral Foundation is very lightweight and does not emphasis dryness. It provides light to medium coverage that never looks cakey. I still need to use concealer on my red chin and a big blue vein on my temple, however I use concealer with full coverage also. It lasts a good 9 hours or more on my skin (I always use a primer) and makes my skin look natural (like I’m not wearing makeup) but smoother and more polished. It also does a great job of evening out my skin tone.

There are 10 shades available, Pebble (one of the lightest) is a great match for my fair skin. The range is fairly neutral based so you won’t look too pink or yellow. I love the pump dispenser–it makes application sanitary and easy to use.

Bottom Line: if you have dry skin and want a natural dewy looking complexion, you may like Youngblood’s Liquid Mineral Foundation.
