You have all heard about the remarkable hair volumizing iron, VOLOOM.™  If you don’t know about the VOLOOM, it’s life changing for us fine haired girls and the petite version is even more awesome for those of us with SHORT, fine hair!

New this month, the brand is introducing the VOLOOM Petite Hair Volumizing Iron–it’s the original’s little sister!  VOLOOM Petite model is a smaller version of the original VOLOOM Hair Volumizing Iron, which was selected as a finalist in its 2015 Beauty Award competition by Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW). It’s also the only heated styling tool designed specifically to add lasting volume to short to medium length hair and finer hair. If you’re like me, you’ve tried eleventy-billion gels, mousses and sprays that make hair sticky, dull and weigh it down. VOLOOM adds soft, natural-looking volume with body and bounce.

The secret to VOLOOM Petite is in the patented plates with ceramic coating and ionic technology. Used in the under-layers of hair, VOLOOM Petite builds lasting structure into the under-layers of the hair, lifting the top layers up and away from the scalp. VOLOOM is applied in a “clamp and release” action for only a second or two to under-layers of the hair only. It’s easy and only takes a few minutes. By lifting and separating individual hairs, VOLOOM creates that BIG sexy mane of hair you’ve always wanted.

How To Use It:

Okay girls if this klutz can do this, trust me, ANYONE can! I’m extremely impressed (and surprised) at how quick and easy this iron is to use! This petite version makes it even easier for those of us with short hair.

  • Section off your hair (about a 1/2″ from your part) and clip the top layer to the side with the clips included in the kit (you will not use the iron on this layer)
  • Section another layer off underneath the upper smooth layer
  • Holding your hair straight up from your head, clamp the VOLOOM as close the scalp as you can get and close the iron for a few seconds, then move down the hair shaft a few times. Do NOT pull your through–this tool is meant to crimp and nothing else.
  • Repeat on under layers and in the back. The more layers you crimp, the more volume you’ll get. The crimpy texture is what adds fullness but it will be hidden by the smooth upper layer. Genius! You can also spray root lift or another styling spray under each layer but I didn’t need too. In fact when I use the VOLOOM petite, I don’t use ANY styling products.
  • You can also use the VOLOOM to add height to a ponytail or updo though I haven’t tried it yet.

The VOLOOM Petite comes with three free gifts: a travel pouch/heat mat, three “no-slip” hair clips and a precision sectioning brush. These may seem like little extras, but they really did make the whole process MUCH easier. Before and after pictures below!

The VOLOOM Petite Hair Volumizing Iron is priced at $129.99 and is available at www.VOLOOM.com and at Amazon.com. Customers receive free shipping and handling.

  • Wren LaPorte

That looks so neat! I find my hair has been pretty lifeless lately and the only thing I find to add volume is dry shampoo and it makes my hair feel icky. This might just do the trick to add volume without having to curl it everyday!

  • Wow! It looks so awesome! I haven’t used any kind of iron on my hair for the longest time. Especially after it got a bit dry after too much coloring. This is a must have though!

    • It really works and for me, the petite version is easier to use.

  • marciaf
