“Blush is like dessert, you didn’t know you loved it until you had a taste of it. Our blush was developed with easy application and a no-fail color palette in mind—to take the guesswork out of creating a sweet, romantic flush. It’s the little black dress of blushes.”
Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush ($29.00) has three stripes of color: rose pink shimmer, soft coral pink, and peachy pink shimmer. It is supposed to be used swirled together or you can swipe more of one or two shades and blend to customize your flush. The strips are quite narrow though, so it is difficult to get each shade separately on a brush. No worries, it’s fabulous when all three shades are combined.
The pink shade is a slightly cool medium pink with a shimmery finish. The middle shade is a pretty coral but is also the shade with the least color payoff due to it’s harder texture and it balances the shimmery shades nicely. The last shade is a pretty peach with a frosty finish. I was surprised at how frosty it was when I swatched it. That said, the three mixed together result is a pretty pinky/peach shade with a subtle sheen. The nice thing is that if you want a bit more shimmer, you can use the peachy frosty shade to highlight the upper cheek bones.
The baked formula isn’t as soft as a regular powder blush, but still buildable. I am fairly pale, especially in winter so I usually have to go easy on the blush. With the Too Faced Sweetheart blush, I found I needed to use my #168 MAC Angled brush to really get the pigment to show up on my cheeks. It made all the difference, however I’m not sure this blush would be suitable for darker skin tones–maybe as a highlighter.
The packaging is adorable and girly! The cardboard box is heart shaped and has a vintage feel to it, perfect for Valentine’s Day! The blush itself is a whopping 0.19 oz. so there is a lot of product. Sweethearts Blush is part of the Too Faced Spring 2013 Collection. Review on the Boudoir Eyeshadow Palette coming up soon!
Bottom Line: Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush is great for us fair skinned gals. I like that you can sort of customize the mix of shades. The super cute packaging houses tons of product. For me the pigment is adequate and the color is really pretty. Those of you with darker skin tones will probably only be able to use this as a highlighter.
