Too Faced Summer 2014 Limited Edition Bonjour Soleil Bronzer Palette ($44) is a bottle of awesome sauce AND a bag of chips! Inspired by the French Riveria, this mix of matte and shimmery bronzers has all your tanning needs covered minus the sunburn and sun damage.
Why do I love this beautiful, beaming, bodacious bounty of bronze? For starters, because it looks so believable. I admit I was scared when I spied the darkness of the Chocolate Soleil Matte bronzer, but as the smell of cocoa wafted through the air I calmed down. Yes, the Chocolate Soleil bronzer is infused with the smell of delicious chocolate. I’m truly amazed that this bronzer works on my pale skin and still looks natural. but it really, really does!
Let’s see… chocolate, the French Riveria, tanning without pain–I’ll have what she’s having!
This wardrobe consists of three of Too Faced best selling bronzers:
- Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer – a natural deep matte bronze
- Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer – a combination of a peachy luster and a soft tan brown
- Snow Bunny Luminous Bronzer – shimmery mix of white highlighter, golden bronze, delicate pink and a soft fawn
- Flatbuki Brush
- Instruction sheet for 3 bronzed babe looks
The original Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer looks very dark in the pan and even when it is applied–the magic doesn’t happen until the blending. When I first touched this to my temples I literally wanted to gasp because it was so dark and I thought I had wasted $44, but after blending it with the totes awesome flatbuki brush (more on this later), I was shocked at how natural this bronzer can look even on pale skin!!
While I wouldn’t call Sun Bunny shimmery per se, it does have a gleam to it. The finish is a cross between a semi-satin and shimmer which translates very well to the skin. It’s a split pan of peach and soft tan. I like to mix both together for a pretty and natural sun kissed blush look.
Snow Bunny is the shimmer stealer in this palette. A mix of shimmery highlighters and luminous bronzers, it delivers a dazzling glow to the skin. Us over 40 beauties may want to use a light hand or a fan brush to avoid overload.
Truly what makes this palette special is the brillant flatbuki brush; even a klutz like me can get a flawless application. The bristles are extremely soft and the shape is perfect. The tip of the brush is perfect for the hollows of the cheeks, along the jaw line and down the sides of the nose. The flat side makes blending easy peasy and hard to overdo it. Seriously beauties, even if you don’t use bronzer, pick up a Flatbuki brush from Too Faced for blush application, you’ll thank me.
If Too Faced doesn’t win an award for packaging I’m going to launch a global protest, who’s with me? The bright white, pink and blue stripes on the French Riveria Summer Collection has me ready to grab a cocktail, a beach towel and laze by the pool. I LOVE the that Too Faced has started using tins instead of cardboard palettes, they are more sturdy and absolutely adorable as well! Take a note Benefit and ditch the cardboard! The Bonjour Soleil Bronzer Palette has a full mirror too! In addition, the enclosed instruction sheet is very much appreciated.
In these pictures, I tried the Kiss of Riveria look. I applied the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer all along my hair line, along my jaw line, along the sides of my nose (great trick for narrowing a wide nose) and in the hollows of my cheekbones, then I dusted Sun Bunny on my forehead, chin and cheeks. I’m quite pleased with the look and you can see how it warmed up my skin without looking muddy.
Bottom Line: whether a bronzer newbie or expert, the Too Faced Limited Edition Bonjour Soleil Bronzer Palette is a must-have! The bases are covered with three different finishes. I’ve trying out different looks everyday since I purchased it. Full sizes of these bronzers are $30 each, so this is a great value too–I rarely use up a full size bronzer.
