Rose Byrne wears NARS at the Academy Awards. Rose Byrne is so beautiful and classy, her makeup is stunning! Her makeup is by Maude Laceppe for NARS.
Inspiration:
“Her dress is like a piece of jewelry so we wanted glamorous and sexy but minimal at the same time. It’s really elegant and modern. We wanted the skin to look transparent but radiant and the new tinted moisturizer produces that effect. It’s is super light but easy to blend for as much coverage as you want or need. It’s a beautiful veil on the skin for a perfect red carpet glow.”

Celebrity makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir used Tarte products for Kristen Wiig.
Overall Inspiration: “Kristen wore a gorgeous princess dress, but it still had a bit of an edge to it, so I wanted to keep her look strong but still soft and pretty.” -celebrity makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir
Makeup-complexion
* To begin Heba used tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 15, with tarte’s new airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush.
Makeup-cheeks
For dewy, sun-kissed cheeks, she applied tarte’s maracuja blush & glow brightening luminizer and cheek tint in sunlight along the apples of her cheeks, followed by a light dusting of tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in buff. The combination gave Kristen’s skin the perfect luminous finish.
Makeup-eyes
* Heba wanted to play up Kristen’s blue eyes with a mixture of bronze and gold shadows. She started by covering her lids with a soft wash of shimmering golden peach from tarte’s neutralEYES eye shadow palette volume II.
*To add further definition, she applied tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in shimmering bronze along her lashlines and into her creases. Then she layered tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in slate in the center of her lids to reflect light.
*Then she lined her eyes with multiplEYE™ clinically-proven lash enhancing liquid liner, drawing outward for a mini cat-eye.
* She finished with two coats of tarte’s gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara.
Makeup-lips
* To keep her look soft, Heba filled in her lips with tarte’s LipSurgence™ matte lip tint in exposed, then dabbed tarte’s maracuja divine shine lip gloss in glisten in the center of her lips for a touch of shine.
Body
*To create a soft glow, Heba dusted tarte’s new Amazon bronze body bronzer along her décolletage, shoulders and down her arms. (Note*out in April!)
Sandra Bullock looked amazing from head to toe in Marchesa. The back of the dress was a low cut drape. Sandra’s sleek ponytail was the perfect hair style for her elegant look. I’m on the hunt for a breakdown of her makeup–I have a feeling it’s Chanel EDIT: found it! and I was right, it’s Chanel. I think Sandra had the best eyes on the red carpet and I love the lip color too!
Makeup was by celebrity makeup artist Angela Levin using Chanel.
I started by applying a rich dose of CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00) to a clean face and let it absorb into the face for about 15 minutes. On her eyes and forehead, I then used a light coat of CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Compact ($58.00 – Available March 19 on chanel.com).
For the cheeks I wanted to create a fresh, youthful appearance so I applied Exclusive Creation Blush Horizon de CHANEL ($58.00).
On the eyes, I began by applying CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre in Émerveille ($36.00) to her lids lightly with my fingers. I followed by applying all colors from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Enigma ($58.00). I used the chocolate grey on the outer part of the lid, the violet grey on the eye crease, the pink under the brow bone and the deep plum to frame the eye across the lash lines. To further glamorize her eyes, I lined the upper lash line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir ($28.00). CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00).
I finished her look by applying a sumptuous amount of CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Mademoiselle ($32.00) topped with CHANEL Glossimer in Braise ($29.50).
Michelle Williams dazzled on the red carpet. You can’t see it very well in this picture, but her skin was luminious and glowing.
My inspiration was a flower! When I saw Michelle in her stunning dress, it made me think of a beautiful rose I have in my garden. Like that flower, she looked so gorgeous and delicate, so I decided to use an array of Spring hues! — Celebrity makeup artist Angel Levin
I began by hydrating her skin with a light layer of CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00). Next, I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00), using half moon strokes on the lids to maintain a round, soft feeling. For an added pop of glamour, I placed a bit of CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Tigerlily ($28.50) on her lids. Under the eyes, I used the darkest color, the neutral deep brown with gold flecks shade, from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00). CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair ($29.00).
To further enhance Michelle’s already gorgeous skin, I applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Compact ($58.00 – Available March 19 on chanel.com) for a hydrated, flawless, revitalized and radiant look. For the cheeks, I applied my favorite new cheek color, Exclusive Creation Blush Horizon de CHANEL ($58.00). To accentuate the natural contours of Michelle’s face, I lightly added CHANEL Limited Edition Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Jasmin ($45.00) to her cheeks. I also added this to her shoulders for a slight highlight as well. To the top and bottom lashes, I applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00).
For Michelle’s bright, purpley-pink lips, I mixed two CHANEL Rouge Coco Shades from CHANEL’s Spring collection: Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paradis, a pink coral with Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Destineé, a spring plum (each $32.00).
NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez to create presenter Gwyneth Paltrow’s red carpet look at the 84th annual Academy Awards. I wasn’t crazy about this makeuplook, it seemed to her wash out, I would have preferred a brighter lip. However, I give Gwynnie a best dressed nomination for her Tom Ford gown and cape–simple but oh so, elegant!
“It’s elegantly bronzed,” said celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez for NARS Cosmetics about the red carpet look she created for Gwyneth Paltrow. “The dress makes such a statement, but it also has no color, so we needed to create a makeup look that complemented the dress and was still sophisticated enough for the red carpet. I really loved the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer because it gives a sun-kissed look to her skin, and perfect against a white dress!”
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 PA +++, with Super Orgasm Illuminator patted onto the apples of the cheeks. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 PA +++ was also applied to her neck, décolletage, and shoulders!
The champagne side of NARS Alhambra Duo Eyeshadow applied on the eyelid for a pop of gold, followed by a Maybelline brown liquid eyeliner along the lashline. The look was finished with NARS Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. NARS Odalisque Larger Than Life Lip Gloss on lips.
