Seventeen magazine was my bible. Believe it or not, I was a model in my late teens and early twenties and back then (the stone age) if you weren’t a supermodel, you did your own makeup. I remember going to an Elizabeth Arden Red Door event to learn how to apply makeup. So maybe my inspiration were the models in my Seventeen–Patti Hansen, Kim Alexis, Kelly Emberg & Ali McGraw.
