Smashbox In Bloom Makeup Collection Spring 2011

The model and the packaging for Smashbox’s In Bloom Collection for Spring 2011 is all about soft, muted watercolor-like shades. The result is a fresh, feminine and delicate look. Me likey!

The collection includes:

In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette & Brush – $48.00  I purchased this on a recent trip with my Bestie to a new (or I should say only) makeup boutique in my small town.  It consists of 10 very wearable matte and shimmer shades arranged in vertical duos for an instant look with minimal effort.

10 Matte and Shimmer Shades:

  • Pink Lily
  • Lavender Grey
  • Golden Pink
  • Warm Taupe
  • Bone
  • Soft Orchid
  • Iris Blue
  • Shimmering Copper
  • Moss
  • Nude

All the shades are quiet and graceful–no shouting here– but are still pigmented enough to flatter. The texture is smooth and silky and lasts even without a primer. My Bestie bought the sleek palette for a one-week trip she was taking–all she needed to add was mascara and she could create enough eye looks for a month!  The palette comes with an eye shadow brush which makes it perfect for travel. I think this palette is ideal for spring–a myriad of pretty looks can be had.  I particlarily like the Golden Pink/Warm Taupe and Moss/ Nude combinations.  Shimmering Copper is a fabulous shade as well as Lavender Grey. Pink Lily and Bone are great as highlight shades and some of the darker shadows can be used wet as liner so it really is a versatile and handy palette.

  1. I really like this palette but I already have Bobbi Brown’s Modern Classic Palette which is also beautiful pigmented neutrals that don’t scream. Do you know how they compare?

    • Hi Joolz, I have both palettes. I actually prefer the Smashbox–I found the BB Modern Classic not as pigmented but then you get more eye shadow shades and 4 lip colors so I guess it comes down to personal preference.
