Skincare Breakthrough? Lumixyl Brightening System

What shines brighter than a gaggle of stars at the Emmy awards? Why you of course after you use Lumixyl Brightening System! You’ll have to wait 8 weeks though,  so be patient.

Summer sun can bring along some unwanted memories “ like wrinkles, sun damage and skin discoloration. Up until recently, prescription hydroquinone has been the doctor’s first choice for reducing melasma, brown spots and sun damage. But long-term use of hydroquinone can cause serious side effects, ranging from redness and irritation to thinning of the skin, and even dark bluish pigmentation. I tried it for the sun damage on my chest and although I didn’t have a bad reaction, I did discontinue use because it dried my skin out so badly.

The Lumixyl Brightening System says it has been proven to dramatically improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation- without the side effects associated with prescription hydroquinone and other skin lightening agents. What’s the secret?

The hero of the system is the Lumixyl peptide, which was developed by dermatological researchers at Stanford University as a safe and effective alternative to hydroquinone. Studies have shown that this innovative peptide is capable of restraining tyrosinase, the enzyme that leads to hyperpigmentation, more effectively than hydroquinone and without the associated risks. Study participants reported visible improvements in overall facial aesthetics in addition to a 50% improvement in the appearance of their hyperpigmentation after 16 weeks!

According to internationally renowned New York City Dermatologist Neil Sadick, “Lumixyl is safe and effective and can be used on all skin types including darker skin tones.”Each product in the Lumixyl Skin Brightening System works to accelerate and protect the Lumixyl Peptide effects. There are 4 steps to the system and several phases. I tried the whole system for the 8 weeks recommended and I am honestly impressed with the results!

Step 1 is the Active Prep Cleanser – an advanced antioxidant cleanser that primes the skin for the delivery of the peptide. I used morning and night for 8 weeks with no irritation or dryness.

Step 2 is the Lumixyl Creme– it features a proprietary peptide (Decapeptide-12), not found in any other product, that has been shown to effectively prevent the production of pigment without the risks of irritation. The cream is so gentle I wondered several times whether it was actually working but I faithfully followed directions.

Step 3 is the GlycoPeel 20 Lotion – a concentrated glycolic peel that kick starts your brightening regimen by helping to remove visible discoloration thus expediting reduction in pigment beneath the skin’s surface. By promoting cell turnover, GlycoPeel 20 also targets acne lesions. This is where the “phases” come in–phase #1 you are to use this once in the AM every other day, phase #2 you are to use it every day in the AM, phase #3 use every morning and every other night, phase #4 use every morning and every night. Each phase lasts for two weeks. My skin did just fine until I got to phase #4 and that was too much for me; I experienced some slight burning–uncomfortable enough that I went back to phase #3.

Step 4 is the Moisture Lock Sunscreen – a micronized physical sunscreen with broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection that also restores moisture to the skin.

Each of these products was specifically developed to work synergistically to inhibit the overproduction of melanin, remove hyperpigmented layers of skin and accelerate results in as little as eight weeks. You must practice sun avoidance and use a high SPF sunscreen while using the system. You should be doing that anyway!

  • Use the cleanser–it’s a gel and gentle so your face doesn’t feel tight afterward.
  • Apply the brightening cream
  • Apply a thin layer–that’s the key–of the GlycoPeel lotion. I thought it was weird to apply this after the brightening cream but I really think the brightening cream is supposed to “buffer” the Glyco Peel for those with sensitive skin.
  • Follow with the moisture suncreen. The texture of this is very good–not too thick, no white cast and just enough moisture without being greasy.

  • Cleanser
  • Brightening Cream

My Findings: After following the regimen faithfully for 8 weeks, I am very pleased with the results of the system. There aren’t too many steps to follow—four steps in the AM, two in the PM. Even with four steps–it only takes maybe 5-7 minutes. The system is gentle enough that it didn’t irritate my skin until I got to phase #4. Those with sensitive skin may need to adjust also.

I have noticed the sun spots are definitely lighter, but what is more impressive to me is the improved texture of my skin! No, my lines haven’t disappeared (shoot!) but my skin is soft and ultra smooth. I had some roughness on my chin and that is noticeably smoother as well as my whole face–I don’t have a blemish on me–yipee! I had a small bump on my left jaw line as well as a clogged pore that I was going to see the dermatologist about but they’re gone now!

Not to go all Paris Hilton on you, but I really like my reflection in the mirror! My complexion looks smooth, bright and pretty darn flawless–not a blemish in sight!

Final Thoughts: The system was easy to follow and didn’t take too much time; there is even a chart included in the kit if you forget what order or what phase you’re in. I did have to discontinue use after week for 5 or 6 for a week or so because my skin was getting dry. I used a heavier moisturizer for a week and then got back to it. I saw results after about 5 weeks in the brightness and texture of my skin and I absolutely saw the lightening of my sun spots after 8 weeks. I will continue using the system and I’m sure I will continue to see positive results!

Bottom Line:If you have hyperpigmentation, sun damage, or rough, uneven skin tone, this system is gentle and effective. Recommended.
