Shiseido’s Summer Makeup Collection is simply lovely. My worship of artistic director Dick Page aside, I’m loving these summer shades that recall sun, sand and surf. They are inspired by photographs taken by Mr. Page in his travels.

- RD718 Sugarplum – soft grayish red with an unusual hint of verdigris
- RS619 Venus – a deep reddish violet
- RD320 Temptress – a deep reddish brown with a hint of copper
- OR313 Sunshower
- PK214 Pale Shell

I have OR313 Sunshower, GD803 Techno Gold and BR709 Sable. These are lightweight cream eye shadows with a lustrous finish that stay put and look fresh for 16 hours without smudging or creasing. I wore the shadows for a good 12 hours without a primer and no creasing or smudges in sight! You can apply them easily with your fingertip or use a synthetic or concealer brush–I’ve applied them both ways with equal success. What I like most about these shadows (other than the glorious colors) is the soft creamy texture. It seems some brands can’t get cream eye shadows to last unless they make them dry and “set” within a few seconds–this tends to show off my creapy lids and scaring little children is not my intent!!! Shimmering Cream Eye Shadows hydrate skin with Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE and they feel Mah-vel-ous!
Sunshower is a delightfully sunny peach shade ideal for summer days, Techno Gold is a bright yellow gold and Sable is an elegant mink taupe.
For this look I used:
Face:
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42 (I use it everyday, click for review!)
SENSAI Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet Foundation
Eyes:
Techno Gold as a wash from lash line to the brow bone, layered Sunshower on the lid and used Sable in the crease. Two coats of Benefit They’re Real Lashes and Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Laos finished the eyes.

Cheeks:
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Espiégle and Tarte Park Avenue Bronzer
Lips:
Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in OR 316 Mango
I know, not very inspired but I liked the overall look anyway. I want more and more of the Shimmering Cream Eye Shadows–they apply beautifully, have just the right touch of sparkle are silky smooth and last for-evah!
Have you purchased anything from this collection? Do you a more inspired idea of how to use these colors?
