My name is Patty and I’m an eyelash junkie! As you probably know by now from my previous reviews, I’m pretty much an all or nothing gal when it comes to my makeup. I’ve either working from home with little to no makeup on or I’m all out glam! And you can’t go all out glam without fabulous eyelashes!
Luckily I have fairly decent lashes. They are longer than average but not quite as thick as I would like. I wear an eyelash primer most days that I wear mascara or I’m sporting false eyelashes if I’m going out. I find that primer gives my lashes a bit of extra oomph that I like.
This eyelash primer is SUPERB! I love everything about it, from the formulation to the brush! Sensai is a beautiful, upscale Japanese line by Kanebo International. The Kanebo Sensai Collection is based on the precious qualities of Japan’s Koishimaru silk combined with the most advanced skincare technologies. This prestigious line offers an extensive line of cosmetics, skincare, body care, and hair care treatments. I’ve had the opportunity to try a few of their products and I’m thrilled with everything so far!
The Sensai website simply has the following to say about their product:
Conditions and coats lashes prior to mascara application to enhance colour, length and volume.
In the US, the products are available at Bergdorf Goodman and also on-line at the Bergdorf Goodman site.
As you can see by my picture below, the want is quite thin. This is what I really like about it! Unlike Lancome’s Oscillation Powerbooster (which was my favorite until now) and Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum (hated it), I’m able to really get the brush into the base of my lashes and pull up, tight into the lashes, ensuring that each lash is wrapped in silky, Japanese goodness! I have two mascaras in current rotation (Lancome Hypnose Drama and Armani Eyes to Kill) and these both layer beautifully over this primer.
One question I always have with primers, is will it lengthen or thicken? I would have to say this one does both, but if it does one more than the other than I would say it thickens better, which is alright with me!
Considering this is a high-end luxury line, the price is reasonable in my book ($28). It is the exact same price of the Dior which I disliked, and $11.50 cheaper than the Lancome which I loved, but I love this more!
If you like eyelash primers and/or want/need to give your lashes that extra OOMPH, this is definitely a winner that you NEED to check out.
