Review: Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner

Now that summer is winding down, children are going back to school and the adults vacations are over.  After months of heat, humidity, salt water, chlorine and sun exposure my hair, my hair and probably yours, are seeing the effects. Roughness, dryness and frizz are the result of these summers stressors.

I tamed my unruly tresses with Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner. It provides the nourishment and moisture my hair was craving. Intensive Repair Conditioner is formulated with a patented technology called Fiber Active to penetrate deep inside the hair strand to help rebind damaged proteins, thereby strengthening the hair and helping to make it resilient to future damage.

It has a rich, creamy consistency and a very light, clean and refreshing smell.  I don’t like my hair products to interfere with my perfume and this is light enough to where that is not a problem. With my super fine hair, I usually need to use a leave-in conditioner but Dove  Intensive Repair does a great of detangling too so that’s one less product I have to buy. Score!  I think what I’m most impressed with is that this conditioner tames my flyaways without weighing down my baby fine hair.  I’m getting some grey hair and it’s very course. These new hairs tend to stick straight up in my part and it’s a real problem to get them to relax without making my hair greasy. Dove Intensive Repair seems to accomplish that and  that’s not an easy thing to do!  It also leaves my hair really silky, soft and bouncy.

This rich, thick conditioner behaves like a high priced salon brand. You only need about a pea size.  This is going to sound strange, but I can almost feel the Fiber Active proteins wrapping around the strands of my hair. I think that’s why it takes longer than a regular conditioner to rinse out–give yourself 1-2 minutes to completely rinse.

The packaging is super easy to use in the shower–the flip cap is on the bottom.
