Review: Boots No. 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation

Always on the lookout for the perfect foundation for my over 40 skin, I was anxious to try Boots No. 7 Lift and Luminate foundation ($14.99). It promises to “ lift, firm and brighten your skin- disguising lines and wrinkles as well as evening out the skin tone to give a flawless look.”

This silky lightweight formula gives full coverage without feeling thick or looking cakey. The finish is somewhere in between dewy and matte–I would probably categorize it as satin, but with a nice luminosity to it that doesn’t make it look flat.

Available in 8 shades, I was sent Cool Beige which is a PERFECT match! It’s rare that I find a good color match without trying *379 different colors first. The finish is SO natural with this foundation, with a good shade match it doesn’t even look like you’re wearing foundation!

With my slightly dry skin, Boots No. 7 Lift and Luminate foundation has just the right amount of moisture so it hydrates without sliding off my face. I use either my fingers or my Beautyblender to apply it. It blends beautifully and easily lasting a good 8 hours on me. The addition of 15 SPF is nice but I still use a separate sunscreen for maximum coverage.

Color me impressed with this foundation! I’ve been wearing this foundation everyday for two weeks and I can honestly say it rivals my high-end foundations for coverage, finish and performance! I think every over 40 woman should give this a try!

Bottom Line: great coverage, good lasting power and nice finish. This foundation does not eliminate my lines and wrinkles but it DOES make my skin look smooth and radiant. At $14.99 you can’t g wrong giving it a try!!

The addition of Boots No. 7 Stay Perfect Primer ($9.99) allows my skin to go from smooth to flawless! The oil-free formula does contain silicones and that’s why it applies so smoothly and glides across the skin. It fills large pores, line and wrinkles and ‘sticks’ to foundation well. I did a test and applied Stay Perfect Primer to half my face under my foundation and the other half just with foundation and I could definitely tell a difference. My opinion wasn’t enough though–I also asked several people at work and they all could tell a difference right away! When asked what the difference between the two sides of my face was, some said the side with the primer was softer and smoother and some couldn’t explain. They all liked the side with primer best even though I didn’t tell them which was which. Not scientific I know but it’s good enough for me!

Bottom Line: For a smooth, natural, flawless look I highly recommend Boots No. 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation and Boots No. 7 Stay Perfect Primer. If you’re on a budget a mere $25 smackers will get you both! I don’t know what took me so long to try this line!!

Boots No. 7 is available at Target, and the Boots No. 7 website.
