Review: Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals

When I saw a picture of the Limited Edition Cabana Coral Lip & Eye Palette I knew I had to have it. I love neutrals and corals so we were meant to be together, plus I think I am developing a girl crush on Bobbi Brown.

I usually don’t like eye and lip products packaged together but the design of this palette works wonderfully. The palette is a double decker design that folds out flat to reveal separate compartments for eye shadows and lip colors so they don’t get mixed together. It includes eye shadow and lip brushes.

Top layer:

  • Ivory-a matte highlighter shade
  • Bermuda Pink-a metallic medium pink. I don’t think this has a very ‘metallic’ quality to it. I consider it to be slightly shimmery instead
  • Seashell Pink-Bobbi also calls this metallic and I see more shimmer in Seashell Pink than Bermuda Pink. In the pan it looks pink, but when swatched looks more peach to my eye.
  • Bonfire-another metallic that is a warm peachy bronze
  • Tan-a matte taupe great for contouring
  • Burnt Sugar–a gorgeous metallic brown

Bottom layer:

  • Cabo Coral- new to this collection, a bright pinky coral creme
  • Salmon- a true salmon creamy lip color
  • Shell- a sheer peachy shade
  • Coral Reef-also new to the Cabana Coral collection, a sheer metallic pale coral

L to R-Cabo Coral, Salmon, Shell, Coral Reef

All these shades are pretty and wearable, but for me, the two standout shades are Cabo Coral and Coral Reef. Cabo is great for a bold lip look and Coral Reef has a very pretty sheen. It was hard to capture in the picture but I hope you can see that it has more shine than the others.

All the shades in the Limited Edition Cabana Coral Lip & Eye Palette are stunning and work well together to create a fresh spring look that can work well into summer. Bobbi doesn’t skip on quality and this palette is no exception. I really like the fact that I can try two of the lip colors from the collection in this palette too.

Packaging: a double decker design that keep powder products away from lip products. It is smaller than I expected.

Value: with 6 shadows, 4 lip colors and two brushes, $60 is a good value. Another plus is that two of these lip colors are new to the collection. This is a good purchase if you want to try the Cabana Corals collection without buying all the bits and pieces. I purchased this and a cream blush and feel like I have a good portion of the collection.

Overall: stunning shades, excellent quality, good design, well coordinated colors. This is going to be my ‘go to’ palette for spring and summer. Highly recommended.

Best For: neutral and warm toned girls will love this. Cooler toned women may find only a few shades work for them.

I also purchased Calypso Coral Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks from the Cabana Coral collection. I’ve always loved Bobbi’s pot rouges and as I age, I am starting to wear more cream blushes because they don’t settle into lines or look cakey. In fact, I find cream blushes to give a youthful dewy look to the cheeks. Calypso Coral looks scary bright in the jar but blends to a nice pinky coral shade. It definitely has more pink in it and will add a nice pop of color to your cheeks. I think it will look especially pretty with a tan, but for us in the Northwest that will be awhile. In the meantime, Calypso Coral will add a nice glow to your cheeks and brighten up your face in this dull winter season. To apply, I swirl my finger in the pot to warm it up a bit, then put small dots on the apples of my cheeks and blend up to the hairline. A sponge or blush brush works too. As with any blush, just remember to blend, blend, blend!

Packaging: a generous jar with twist off top

Value: at $22 you get a lot of product and this is a bargain if you consider that some high-end blushes run upwards of $40. Bobbi bills this as a lip and cheek color so $22 for a multi-use product is a value!

Overall: another winner! A creamy, easy to blend cream blush that will add a pop of color to your face and create a youthful glow

Availability: at Bobbi Brown counters and bobbibrowncosmetics.com

Best For: anyone who wants a pop of pinky coral to brghten up their face!

LOVE your review Cindi! No one seems to have swatched the palette, and your pictures really show the texture of the eyeshadows! Now I have some thinking to do….

I purchased this palette… quite by accident and I LOVE it! Went to pick up the Orchid Color Strip at Neiman’s only to find they’d sold out. My teen granddaughter was with me and spotted the Cabana Corals Palette. I’d seen the separate components on Bobbi’s site, but didn’t know this existed. I hadn’t worn corals since the ’70′s and Bobbi’s new metallic “edge” adds a pleasing update to an old favorite! Seashell Pink is absolutely gorgeous and I hope she incorporates this shadow into her regular line. I’m medium toned with brown eyes and this palette just brings summer on!

I agree! So glad you like the palette! I also love Bermuda Pink and Burnt Sugar is perfect for a crease color.
