Pore Wars: Mally v.s. IT Cosmetics v.s. Make Up For Ever

…..in mirrors all across the galaxy, women gazed at the black holes and craters upon their faces.

It is a time of shrieking and recoiling. Women from planets all over the galaxy are searching for a solution to the gaps and large cavities that mar their outward appearance. One brave rebel, Princess Prime Beauty, vows to find an answer and bring peace and beauty back to her people. After scouring the universe trying an infinite amount of lotions and potions, Princess Prime Beauty has discovered the ultimate solution. The results of her grueling and arduous journey can now be revealed.

There are a LOT of products out there that promise to blur, diffuse, diminish and/or soften pores. I’ve tried most of them and the following  are my top three picks to blur, diffuse, diminish and/or soften pores. :)

Mally Poreless Face Defender ($40) – a featherlight, cleargel/powder, this stuff is rocks! It really does make pores disappear– but be careful and do NOT use too much. On the first attempt I used my fingers to apply and it was a disaster–use the sponge that comes with the compact for the perfect application. I’m convinced this was not created by Mally Roncal, but by Criss Angel because not only does it make pores vanish but it transforms from a gel to a powder. Viola! Downside–it’s a little pricey, hence the A minus.

Prime Beauty Grade: A -

Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder ($30)- created to soften the look of imperfections for HD cameras, this super fine, translucent finishing powder gives a ‘soft focus’ look to the skin. It absorbs into the skin so it never looks cakey or sits on top. The jar has a sifter top which allows for a no mess application.  MUFE HD High Definition Powder can be applied over or under foundation–I prefer applying over foundation with a fluffy blush brush. As a bonus, it’s talc-free, formulated with 100% silica and dermatologically tested. The only downside is a small amount of white ‘smoke’ arises when you tap the powder into the lid.

Prime Beauty Grade: A

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores ($24) – Bye Bye Pores is an extremely fine, velvety translucent powder made with real silk to give an airbrushed look. This powder differs from the others in that it contains anti-aging ingredients like hydrolyzed collagen to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and Vitamins A, C, E and K to reduce discoloration and ward off free radicals. Like Make Up For Ever HD powder it is talc free but also paraben free, fragrance free and oil free. Of the three, Bye Bye Pores is the only one that keeps me matte all day long. You need only the tiniest bit for your whole face. This powder is….absolutely….perfect.

Prime Beauty Grade: A+

  3. Great review, Cindy! I really do have to try the It one now.

  4. I have not tried the first two products. However, I do have Bye Bye Pores— it does such a fabulous job that I have not even thought about trying anything else. I love it!

  5. Thanks to you I tried and I love bye bye under eye and will try bye bye pores now

Thanks for all your research you are my go to guide on beauty products

  6. I love the Bye Bye Pores also – it’s really terrific.

  7. I love Bye Bye Pores and use it every day but I can’t seem to get the promised effect of bye bye under eye :( Any words from the wise on what I might be doing wrong? If I use a teenie tiny amount it doesn’t cover the dark circles and if I use more it’s well…..too much :/ onto Mally’s products now at the advice of a good friend hopefully there will be a solution to my concealer woes ;)

  8. I use the Mally product and it does work like magic! I love it and it truly works. Definatley use the pad that it comes with!
