Polish and Co. Nail Polish

by: Staff Writer Patty

I was sent two beautiful polishes from Polish & Co, a brand that was entirely new to me.  This is what the website has to say about this company:  North Carolina’s newest beauty brand where mint juleps, fabulous hats and sundresses reign. Always dreamed of living the Scarlett O’Hara lifestyle? Now, thanks to founder and nail industry expert of 23 years, Theresa Williamson you can have at least your nails emulate that syrupy, southern belle look. Nails are just as important as the latest fashion accessory and can have a large impact on an outfit and a personal general look, so getting them right is crucial. It can take you from messy to polished in a fashionable New York minute.

The shades I was sent were Location, Location, Location and Pink You.  Location, Location, Location is pictured below from in my photograph (front and back), a pic of my toes and from the website.  This is a true red that is not too warm or too cool.  It is just perfect!

I had my toes done on a Tuesday, and I’m writing this on a Tuesday, so this is after one full week of wear with very minimal chipping.

Pink You is a very cool, bubble-gum toned pink.  Although I think the color is gorgeous, it was not a suitable shade for my skin tone.

I took both polishes to the nail salon and requested that my toes be painted with Location, Location, Location and my hands Pink You.  My feet were done first and the nail technician was very happy with the way this polish went on.  She applied two coats and we both marveled at how smooth and even each coat applied.  When it came time for my hands, the technician did three fingers with Pink You and I realized it was too far outside of my comfort level so I had her remove it and we went with my old standby, Essie Watermelon.

There are 27 shades on the website, and from what I can tell, most are creamy, non-shimmery shades.  There appear to be a few shimmery shades, but nothing with glitter that is so prevalent in polishes these days.  This is a sophisticated line with a fun side!  They have very fun names like “Sweet Caroline” which is a gorgeous baby blue, a beautiful shell pink (this one actually looks slightly shimmery) called “Oh Hell No” and a dark navy called “Jeans 2 Tight”.

These retail for $12USD for .5 ounces of product and can be found on-line at www.polishandcompany.com or at one for their 9 retail locations.

If you’re looking for some fun colors to take you into the coming seasons in a good quality nail polish, this line is definitely worth a look!
