Poise Microliners: Freedom From Light Bladder Leakage!

Yoga & Poise Microliners go together!

I wrote about my experience with Poise Microliner as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #SAMInYourPants

Have you ever had to break into a run after your kids and leaked a little? Or had a coughing or sneezing fit and leaked a little? Or even just laughed too hard for too long? Light bladder leakage affects 40 million women and I’m one of them. I have come to trust Poise to help relieve my menopause symptoms; the Poise Roll On Cooling Gel, has been a life saver and I trust Poise as my solution to light bladder leakage as well.

I first started having LBL moments in my late 40’s, mostly when I had to run unexpectedly: after the dog, the kids, the mailman. My daughter was a high school cheerleader and helping her practice her cheers with all that jumping around was a trigger too. I remember helping my daughter’s team practice a routine for a competition and between the jumping and high kicks it was brutal, I got through the routine. But, I leaked. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable.

Poise Microliners + Yoga =Perfection

As I’ve gotten older and am in the depths of menopause, it’s gotten worse. Lifting heavy things, strenuous exercise and of course running all cause leakage. Zumba was turning point for me.  I had to admit it had become too high intensity and was getting to be too hard on my knees. I needed to find some type of low impact exercise so I wasn’t leaking too badly and that was easy on my joints. There was a Yoga class offered through my work at lunchtime so I gave it a go and ended up loving it!  I really enjoy yoga; it’s a great way for women over 40 to remain flexible and to have good balance. Yoga makes me feel strong and relaxed at the same time. Thank goodness though, for Poise microliners and pads, some of those those poses are challenging!  Poise keeps yoga a joy for me because I don’t have to worry about an “accident.” Poise gives me the confidence to stay active and do the things I want to do without having to worry about leaking. Poise has a size and an option for everyone; the Ultra Thins are perfect for me and keep me feel comfortable, clean and fresh.

I’m so grateful women are acknowledging LBL and talking about it. I no longer have to feel that I’m the only one with this problem! Wearing Poise Ultra Thins every day allows me to feel confident, clean and comfortable!  Three cheers for Poise, just don’t make me jump! :)

I’ve only experienced this during pregnancy. The commercial for SAM is hilarious. It sounds almost sexual

Thanks for sharing this. It’s no something I hear anyone talk about, not even my 91 year old Grandma! So I always wondered if this was something that affects everyone and what causes it.

I know how you feel about embarrassing leakage. Laughing when I was pregnant was an issue and I had to take measures to not show.

Great post. I need to tell my friend about these. She had twins and literally if she sneezes wrong she leaks. I like that they are thin and not very bulking and noticable. Great post!!!

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

They are so comfortable you don’t even know they are there but you can feel protected, that’s what I like.

Thank you for sharing your story, this is an important issue and women shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about it. I’m glad there are companies like Poise who make great products to help with this problem.

I’m hoping this doesn’t happen to me during/after pregnancy, but it’s pretty inevitable isn’t it 😉 Thanks for sharing a great product!

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

Yep, just wait till the baby starts putting pressure on your bladder!

  • http://beautylitfromwithin.blogspot.com Nidia – Lit From Within

Yep, things just start to fall apart after 40! Sneezing, laughing, coughing – they can all cause LBL for me. My mom has the same issue, so I was lucky to have someone to talk to about it. I always wear a sanitary pad, but sometimes they get uncomfortable, or chafe. I should check into Poise, as they were made for this issue!

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

Yes & they all shapes and sizes so you’re sure to find something comfortable!

  • http://www.CosmeticSanctuary.com Lisa Heath

I dealt with it a lot during pregnancy.

I’m pregnant and can relate to the leakage! I woke up at 2 am to the little one kicking me in the bladder. Maybe I should look into wearing one of these to bed!

      Couldn’t hurt!

We have a lot of LBL-awareness ads in Australia so I made sure I learnt all about pelvic floor exercises.

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

      Good for you!

  • http://www.norahlovesmakeup.com NORAH

This is something that a lot of women deal with. It is good to talk about it!

  • Mamavalveeta03

Thank you for being so honest, Cindy! I’ll fess-up: Sneezing, laughing hard, coughing while sick with bronchitis (Add back problems and giving birth 3 times….all contribute to an “Oh sh*t!” moment). I’m going to give these a try.

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

I think you’ll like them Mama!

I haven’t experienced this yet but I have yet to have my first baby. From what I hear once you have your first kid it all goes down hill down there… Scares m a little! =)

    • Mamavalveeta03

Nah…Don’t worry about the rumors, Ashley! Do things change? Yes. Are kids totally worth it? Yes. And there ARE things you can do to keep your pelvic floor strong. Kegels, as Cindy mentioned.(look them up, cuz they can even improve sex when you’re not preggers!)

  • http://www.painted-ladies.com Sheila (Painted Ladies)

LBL is something we should be discussing, for sure. It’s more common than many would think!

  • http://www.blushingnoir.com Brooke @ Blushing Noir

I get bronchitis twice a year and because I hate the dr I let it go too long… my coughing fits end up making me leak. I’d like to thank my children. LOL

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

Totally! We can blame SO many things on the kids!

  • http://www.glitterglossgarbage.com Heisenglossy

Totally feel you on the bladder leakage. I’ve pushed out 5 kids plus had surgery and my bladder is shot. I’m going to give Poise microliners a shot!

Pregnancy caused my body to go all kinds of whack. Thank goodness for so many products on the market that will help us out.

  • http://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com Shelley Zurek

HI Cindy! So glad to come across you again. I think LBL is a problem that if talked about regularly (like you have) could just be dealt with quite simply!

    • http://www.primebeautyblog.net cindy

Absolutely and need to be talked about!

  • http://www.insanityisnotanoption.com Christy

Yup, definitely a thing here too. 4 large babies, some menopausal stuff, and lots of running around after my little ones, I get it. Yoga is my best friend when exercising.

  • http://www.glamour-zine.com kristyn

your so brave to talk about this when so many women hide it, though its common. Great post!
