Pixi Beauty Must Haves!

Press Sample

Pixi Beauty has so many products that have become staples on my vanity and the hits don’t stop! I’d like to talk about a few superstars in the line up that are must haves for everyone!

Skincare Must Haves

Pixi Glow Tonic ($15-30) –  I have repurchased this so many times, I’ve lost count.  It firms, tones and tightens skin for a more youthful appearance. It contains 5% glycolic acid which is where the exfoliating properties factor in. Glycolic acid is beneficial for both acne and aging. Glycolic acid dissolves dead skin cells and speeds up the turnover of cells thereby unclogging pores and smoothing the skins’ texture. Removing dead skin cells creates healthier looking, glowing skin! Don’t be scared, though, it doesn’t sting or cause irritation at all.
Great for over 40 skin and can be found at Target! Read my full review here.

Pixi Double Cleanse ($24) – This duo gets such great reviews I had to try it! Skincare expert Caroline Hirons designed this duo to make cleansing effortless and effective. If you’re currently a fan of Korean Beauty skin care you’ve heard about the miracle of double cleansing. What is double cleansing? Double cleansing is a method brought to us by Asian countries where you remove your makeup with a cleansing oil or cleansing balm first and then follow up with a second cleanse using a cream or milk-like cleanser to add moisture back into the skin from the initial cleansing process. The second cleanse may also help in removing any left over makeup or film left behind.

One side of the Pixi Double Cleanse is a solid cleansing oil and the other a cleansing cream. The cleansing oil removes makeup and/or sunscreen with skin loving ingredients like oil Vitamin E  to protect & condition plus Camellia Oil and Evening Primrose Oil to heal & moisturize. The balm melts into the skin (apply to dry skin)  and removes even waterproof makeup like mascara. I remove the balm with a warm washcloth. The cream is formulated with Vitamin C to promote collagen, Peptide Complex to plump and relax lines and Arginnie (an antioxidant) to improve cell renewal & elasticity. The cream feels luxurious and pampering and leaves skin feeling totally clean and definitely not stripped. The two combined do double-duty to clean and moisturize. I really love the way this makes my skin feels. And I’m also glad there is no fragrance for my sensitive friends.

Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Blend ($24) was launched this spring and I feel like it was made just for us over 40 ladies. My skin really responded well to this oil, I apply it after cleansing and serum and wake up with a radiant glow. Read my full review here.

Color Cosmetics

Pixi Beauty ItsJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette ($24) is a collaboration with blogger Judy Travis. The Get the Look ItsEyeTime palette consists of 12 eyeshadows: six mattes and six shimmers of warm neutral shades. What I love most about this palette is the mix of shades: there is a nice selection of transition, shimmery and liner shades.  It’s fantastic quality and a great value. 12 eyeshadows for $24 is pretty spectacular and the performance couldn’t be better. Read my full review and see swatches and looks here.

Another blogger collaboration is the Strobe and Bronze palette ($20) by Maryam Maquillage. The highlighters give a soft glowing luminosity while the bronze shades help create natural definition. The palette is divided into 3 bronzers and 3 highlighters. The bronze shades add warmth while the highlighters add radiance. Sweep the closest shade that matches your skin tone and place across the forehead, cheeks and along the nose & chin for a sunkissed look. Then, apply highlighter to tops of cheekbones, under the brow arch and to cupid’s bow to add dimension to your bronzed look. I also like to use a deeper bronzer shade to subtly define cheeks and my jawline so they don’t look they are falling off my face!

Pixi Glow-y Powder ($16). Aspyn Ovard created 3 glow powders based on places she has traveled. London Lustre is an icy champagne, Santorini Sunset is a pale peach and Rome Rose is a pretty pink with gold flecks. London Lustre is perfect for pale girls, Santorini Sunset reminds me of BECCA’s Champagne Pop (CP may be a tad darker) so if you missed that one, this is a more affordable option. Rome Rose takes top honors–though it looks like a berry shade in the pan, it swatches as a pretty, glowy pink that gives the face a beautiful pop of color and there is no chunks of glitter for over 40 cheeks!  These have a soft consistency and can be sheered out or applied wet for more intensity.  The compact is huge so you are getting a good value.
