Urban Decay’s collaboration with Gwen Stefani is simply amazing. I’ve been using the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette (reviewed here) constantly and now I am just as smitten with the Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Blush Palette. It’s stunning and limited edition so don’t wait too long! The entire collection includes the eyeshadow palette, lipsticks, lip liners, and also a brow kit.
Everything in the limited-edition Urban Decay Gwen Stefani collection was developed in close collaboration with Gwen. Urban Decay’s product development team spent countless hours at Gwen’s house, talking makeup and working with her on every detail of the collection. Gwen Stefani directed the packaging design, which was inspired by her love of black-and-white graphic prints and antique gold accents. Urban Decay created everything with her, filling a void by developing all of the perfect shades she always wished she had in her collection. And with these products in your arsenal, you’ll have all the essentials to recreate her signature looks for yourself.
The palette contains blush, bronzer and highlighter:
- Blush in Cherry (cool light pink satin)
- Easy (cool deep rose with warm gold shimmer)
- Angel (warm champagne-nude shimmer)
- Hush (warm medium pink with gold shimmer)
- Bronzer in Lo-Fi (soft bronze matte)
- Highlighter in OC (warm soft pink with peach shift)
The formula is Urban Decay’s signature Afterglow: finely milled, blendable, long-wearing with a velvety texture. ALL of these shades are very wearable which also makes the palette more cost effective.
skin tone, I use Cherry, Easy, Hush and OC as blushes, Lo-Fi a bronzer and Angel a highlighter. What makes this palette unique is that you can mix and match the colors to create different looks. For example, you can add Angel on top of OC or Hush over the broner Lo-Fi. This allows for custom combinations and lots of creativity!
That said, I feel like this blush palette is more suited to pale girls; those with darker skin tones might have a hard time getting these shades (with the exception of Easy) to show up. It is also heavily warm-toned. If you have a darker skin tone than me, you may want to swatch the palette at a store before purchasing.
While I wouldn’t call the finish shimmery, these blushes do impart a pretty, dewy glow to the skin a la Gwen Stefani.
Packaging is similar to the eyeshadow palette except it has a white background instead of the black. White, black and gold are a nod to Gwen’s signature style. I think the packaging of the entire collection is very elegant and classy.
The Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Blush Palette was released on January 12 on the Urban Decay website and is now available at Sephora.com as well. I’m not sure when other retailers will have it in stock.
Bottom Line: the limited edition Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Blush Palette has a beautiful. glowy selection of blushes that can be worn every day.
