There are some ridiculously fabulous foundations that have made their way to makeup counters this spring (available in April) and Laura Mercier’s Oil Free Suprême Foundation is most certainly one of them. It’s no wonder Laura Mercier is known for her creation of the Flawless Face because that is exactly wha’t you’ll get with this foundation.
The oil-free, lightweight formula is chock-full of good-for-your-skin ingredients such as:
- Aloe Bardadens – soothes and refresh skin.
- Green Tea Leaf Extract – provides antioxidant and astringent properties.
- Vitamin E – provides moisturizing properties.
- Vitamin A – provides antioxidant and moisturizing capabilities and helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
- Panthenol – a hydrating agent that improves skin’s natural moisture balance.
- Silica – porous mineral absorbs oils, visibly smoothes skin.
My skin has been drying out faster than the Sahara these last two weeks and this foundation still doesn’t look cakey or dry on my thirsty skin. In fact, it glides on and seems to almost float over lines and wrinkles. I’ve used it with and without a primer and the performance is the same–this foundation grabs and hangs on all the live long day!
Coverage is medium to full which I prefer for winter–oh, excuuuuuse me spring. My skin looks über smooth and natural–like I’m not wearing any makeup at all. My freckles show through without the redness peaking through too. I need no powder to set or help with the finish. In fact, the finish on my as- of- this- moment dry skin is semi-matte creating the traditional “flawless face” that Laura Mericer is so famous for. Honestly, when I look in the mirror, I feel like my skin looks airbrushed with this foundation. And… for those of you allergic to or just trying to stay away from silicones–good news–there are none here!!!
There are 12 shades available, I was matched with Warm Ivory which appeared a bit yellow in the bottle, but soon melted into my skin and I’m told by my co-worker that it didn’t look like I had foundation on at all. Score! I can’t say enough about Laura Mercier Oil Free Suprême Foundation–it’s the kind of product that makes you take a look when you pass a mirror and actually leaves you satisfied! It gives me a little more confidence and we can all use that!
Packaging: a frosted glass jar with a pump–always preferred
Quality: the anti-aging and skin soothing ingredients make this a high-quality, high-performing foundation
Value: at $42 for a 1.0 oz. bottle, it is obviously not as economical as a drugstore foundation, but it won’t oxidize or disappear either. Less expensive than Dior, Chanel ,etc.
Overall: if you are seawant for a lightweight, natural looking foundation that gives you that airbrushed look, look no further than Laura Mercier Oil Free Suprême Foundation.
