The inspiration is abundantly evident in the golds and marine blues contained in the collection.
The collection includes:
Lancome Azure Chic Color Design Eyeshadow Palette (LE) $51 – Indulge in a limited-edition compact with shades of golden copper and brown mixed with aquatic teal. Inspired by the warmth of the sun and colors of mosaic tiles at the bottom of a pool, this new versatile, all-in-one palette conveniently creates a full eye look for day or night.
I HAD to have this! The palette is made of six stunning shades:
Upper row left to right: a shimmery icy taupe, shimmery turquoise blue & matte deep midnight blue for lining. This shade would be the equivalent to the Marine Blue in Vernis In Love.
Bottom row left to right: pale matte peach, shimmery apricot and shimmery deep bronze
I realize upon first glance these shades don’t look all that special and may even appear too sparkly, but I assure you once applied they transform into something exceptional. I used an eyeshadow primer and I really that is a must with these eyeshadows; there was some fallout without a primer with the shimmery taupe and blue. Don’t be afraid of the shimmer though–I packed it on and liked the look though I know some over 40 girls prefer matte. If you a matte type beauty, you might want to pass on this palette.
The shadows are highly pigmented and rich but can also be sheered out –the sheerer you go, the more the individual bits of shimmer come out to play. They also blend well and I love that this palette can easily transition from day to night. What I like most is the lovely texture of the shadows and how they translate to the eyes. I truly believe that’s what makes this palette worth trying.
For this look I applied the matte peach to the brow bone, the apricot on the lid and the bronze shade in the crease. I lined the top lashes with Laura Mercier Brown Copper and the lower lash line with tarte smolderEYES in gold and followed with Lancôme definicils mascara . Lancôme suggests this too which I think would be beautiful and I will try next time. Sweep the light peach under the brow and the deep apricot color on the lid, blending them together. After lining the eyes, apply the turquoise shade over the liner to intensify the color. For more intensity, add the bronze shadow to the contour or into the lash line.
For a smoky daytime look I again used the matte peach on the brow bone, the icy taupe on the lid, the turquoise blue in the crease and the midnight blue to line and smudge under my lower lash line. I could go even more dramatic with this look for night.
Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof $27
Lancome Baume in Love ($26)
I have two of these from last year; Urban Ballet, a neutral pink and Coral Electric, a pretty coral. These are super lightweight, easy to wear and very hydrating making them perfect for summer! Very Cherry looks like you just ate a popsicle!
Lancome Vernis in Love ($15) – these are absolutely stunning! I’m going to pick up all three for summer!
- Nuit D’Azur – bright cobalt blue
- Marine Chic – a deep midnight navy
- Golden Riviera – a shimmery gold
Friend and fellow blogger, Polish Insomniac has some fab pictures of the two blues shades here.
Lancome Star Bronzer Palette ($43) – these are always awesome!
Right now the Lancôme Friends & Family sale is going on from May 21-25, get 20% off! The Lancôme French Riviera Summer 2014 Collection is available now on counters or at Nordstrom.com and Lancôme.com.
Bottom Line: Lancôme’s Azure Chic Color Design Eyeshadow Palette combines the colors of summer; soft golden sand and turquoise seas. The palette is high performing, versatile and worth every penny. My only complaint is that you MUST use a primer and that is limited edition and not permanent! My picks for the best of the collection are this palette, all the nail polishes & the bronzer!
