New! Estee Lauder’s Modern Mercury Makeup Collection by Tom Pecheux

Since Tom Pecheax joined Estee Lauder as the brand’s creative director, we have been granted a glimpse of his vision and it is, in my opinion, spectacular–the brand has most definitely stepped up it’s image. His limited edition collections are highly sought after and always sell out quickly. “I always try to respect the woman and make the makeup work for her,” Pecheux says, referring to his trademark sexy, chic aesthetic—a “beauty before creativity” mantra that has earned him campaigns with Gucci and Missoni and backstage turns at shows like Derek Lam, Marni, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Yves Saint Laurent.  Pecheux joined Estée Lauder last November, with the intention of injecting “fashion, fantasy, naughtiness, and above all youth” into the 64-year-old brand. His fall color collection hits counters this month, and with it, the self-proclaimed “bad boy with a good education” is out to have a little fun. (excerpted from

The Pure Color Modern Mercury Collection is a limited edition, texturally graphic collection inspired by modern, avant-garde architecture. Molten metallic eyes become the focus on a soft shimmering canvas and are complemented by edgy matte lips and a twisted shade of green on the nails. Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted pieces from the collection at the Derek Lam Fall 2011 show, creating a look reminiscent of rogue femininity combined with modern minimalism that was truly passionate and chic. In this architectural inspired collection, skin is softly blurred with just a hint of shimmer, eyes are boldly graphic and flaunt the metallic trend of the season while lips are dusted with a matte finish in contagious shades of beige, pink and red.
Nails are finished in a manic shade of green for an unexpected accent.

The collection includes:

  • isn’t it a beautiful collection? Our Neiman’s has been out of most of the collection for weeks. I was lucky to snag one of the very last liquid liners a few weeks ago.

  • I bought one of the liquid liners too. So pretty. I think I’ll see if someone has the topaz one in stock. In fact I think I’ll go stalk this collection down and see what I can’t live without.

  • MUST have that nail polish! Fab!!
