When you get to my age, makeup isn’t optional. Neither is sunscreen, moisturizer and most days primer so, let’s just say that’s a lot of layers to put on your face. Makeup can clog pores causing breakouts and the ingredients in some cosmetics can be responsible for inflammatory responses in our skin so it’s important to take all your makeup off every night. I admit, I am not always good at this. My schedule is kind of crazy–after work I take an hour to make and eat dinner. Then I blog for 2-3 hours, watch a little TV or read to relax and by that it’s time for bed so I can get up at 5:30 AM and do it all over again. This leaves little time for my nighttime skincare ritual and sometimes I’m just too tired to go through the whole process. However, I NEVER go to bed with a full face of makeup thanks to the convenience of makeup wipes. They are also great to throw in your gym bag (where is this place people take about?), quick weekend trips when you don’t want to take your entire arsenal, if you’re just lazy like me. They are also a necessity when I’m in the midst of a swatching session.
Unfortunately, not all makeup wipes are made alike. At 50*cough* something I need a makeup remover that gets off dirt and oil, makeup, (including waterproof mascara) but that also hydrates and soothes my skin. I’ve found that Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are perfect for the job! I’ve tried so many brands now, that I consider myself an expert.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ticks all the boxes for me. They don’t dry my skin out even if I use them for a week straight, though I never do *wink wink.* They take off waterproof mascara without making my under eye area feel dry or tight and cleanse very well–even waterproof mascara! The cloth itself is soft, they have a nice subtle scent and do not burn or sting. Neutrogena says there’s no need to rinse after using one and I agree there is no residue or greasy feeling left behind. These pre-soaked cloths come in a re-closeable package of 25 for about $7 and are a GREAT overall facial wipe! Here’s me below with a full face of makeup.
Ewww, look at my used Makeup Remover Cloth below–that’s a lot of junk I got off my face after a full day!
After cleansing with Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, I did the Neutrogena FaceOff Challenge and then rubbed my face with this white towel–look Ma nothing left behind! Honestly, I’m amazed at how effective these makeup wipes are while still leaving me skin soft and smooth–it’s almost as if I’ve already moisturized!
Try it yourself! Take a side-by-side selfie: one of a full face of makeup and one your squeaky clean face (or the towel like I did) and tweet to #NeutrogenaFaceOff
