A few months ago I did a poll asking what you would like to see on Prime Beauty and many of you responded that you’d like to see more makeup looks. Be careful what you wish for!! I’ve been hesitant for a few reasons; first on all, I’m no makeup artist and secondly I don’t feel real comfortable plastering my big mug on the internet. However, you asked so I will oblige and at least try it once. Here is a pretty everyday makeup look using the fabulous Becca Avalon Palette.
What I used:
Eyes: The beautiful and universally flattering Becca Avalon palette; classic neutrals that make eyes shine. I used the cream eye shadow in Quartz (shimmery white-pink) to highlight the brow bone, Doeskin semi-matt eye (soft fawn) shadow all over movable lid, and Tweed demi-matt (warm burnished brown) in the crease from outer corner to mid eye. A bit of Barbarella cake eyeliner on top and bottom lashes and a generous coat of Lancome Precious Cells mascara and there you have it. These shadows have superior lasting power; I put them on at 6 am (without a primer) and they still looked fresh at 9 pm when I took them off. Honestly, they last longer than War & Peace. Quartz can be used in multiple ways; as a cream eye shadow, to highlight cheeks, brow bone, cupids bow, inner corner of eyes–use your imagination!
Bronzer: Tarte Matte Waterproof Bronzer Very natural and waterproof, how cool is that? The only bronzer you’ll need all summer.
Cheeks: Pink Grapefruit powder blush from Laura Geller. A combination of pink, bronze and peach, this sort of adjusts to your skintone making it a beautiful shade that looks great on everyone. A definite no-brainer, keep it close by because you’ll use it everyday!
Lips: Paul & Joe Morocco. From the Sahara Summer 2010 Collection, I love everything about this lipstick! A warm pink with golden shimmer, Morocco has quickly become a summer staple for me. There is quite a bit of shimmer but it stops short of frost which gives it a lovely sheen. It is semi-sheer and has a nice glossy finish. Packaged in the often irrestible style of Paul and Joe, the flowers on the tube are inspired by lotus flowers–too cute!
Since I went out on a limb and posted a pic of my makeup look, can you please vote in the following poll and let me know if you want to see more makeup looks? Thanks, I knew you would.
