Giveaway–Mineral Fusion Made a Believer Out Of Me!!

Mineral Fusion’s full line of mineral cosmetics creates a synergy where beauty and skincare become one, instantly perfecting your complexion while improving the condition of your skin. Our cosmetics are naturally formulated, combining exquisite mineral color with rich botanical actives and nourishing vitamins.

We are dedicated to simplifying your beauty experience, making beauty healthy, and sharing beauty with our community – we call this pursuit Minerals on a Mission.

I’ve never been a lover of mineral powder foundation. I tried Bare Minerals years ago and it made my face shiny. The mere thought of powder all over my face makes me shudder in fear. I envision looking in the mirror and seeing this:

Katrina from Mineral Fusion calmed my fears and told me she would make a believer out of me. She succeeded. I was given an entire face of products to try; pressed mineral foundation compact, blush, concealer, hydration mist, mascara and lip gloss. I will go through each of the products separately.

This mineral pressed powder foundation is very finely milled and applies easily, beautifully and evenly–especially with the flawless brush. The foundation comes in 14 shades and has a matte finish. the great thing about the color selection is that there is more than one option for cool, neutral, deep, olive and warm skin tones making it easy to find the shade that’s right for you. There is also a foundation guide on the Mineral Fusion website. I was amazed that a powder foundation can be buildable–but Mineral Fusion actually is. If you prefer sheer coverage, just one layer with the flawless brush and you’re good to go. I need a little more coverage to hide the redness in my cheeks and around my nose. Most powder foundations come with a Kabuki brush to buff it in and that’s fine, but the Mineral Fusion Flawless Brush is soooo much better! The soft, flat top, medium dense squirrel bristles are ideal for laying down a base. the powder is silky smooth and does not settle into my line and wrinkles. The only complaint I have is that by the end of the day, I needed to touch up my chin –however, I didn’t use a primer so I’m sure I would get more mileage with a primer. The foundation is free of parabens, chemical dyes and perfumes, and is created with natural preservatives.

The mineral blush in Creationlasts all day and applies easily over the powder foundation without adding an heavy looking layer. The bonus with this blush are the antioxidants and skin soothing botanicals included in the formula. Mineral Fusion blush is available in 6 shades. Creation is a medium pink with a slight of brown to mimic a natural flush.

The concealer duo comes with two shades to allow for custom blending. I really like the texture of this product. It seems lately all the concealers I try are too thick which only highlight the lines under my eyes. Mineral Fusion concealer is very smooth, creamy and thin enough to not look cakey, but still gives good coverage for my under eye area. I use the lighter shades for eyes and the darker shade for the face. It is formulated with Vitamins C & E, Sea Kelp, Shea butter, White & Red teas, Pomegranate, and Licorice Root extract.

Allow me to introduce you to the miracle product, Mineral Fusion Hydration Mist. I love this stuff! Spritz on as your last step to set the minerals. It feels soothing and invigorating simultaneously! Made with soothing and hydrating ingredients, use during the day to add moisture or just to refresh!

Lip gloss in Gleam. I’m a sucker for any peach or coral lip gloss so before I even tried this on my lips, I knew it was a great shade for me. Shea butter, Vitamins C & E, Jojoba and Olive oils keep lips hydrated all day. The lasting powder on this gloss is good and the sticky factor is low. Gleam is a peachy pink shade with subtle shimmer. It has just enough shimmer to create dimension but not look frosty.

Creation Blush Gleam Lip gloss

My final Mineral Fusion Look–

Bottom Line:I was very impressed with the Mineral Fusion line and the products I tried. The foundation feels silky and light, the blush wears well, the concealer is the prefect texture, the hydration mist feels awesome and the gloss is gorgeous. I can see myself taking advantage of this look a lot this summer when I want a no-fuss weekend look. Katrina, you made a believer out of this skeptic!  Mineral Fusion adds age-defying antioxidants to all of their products – pomegranate, white tea, red tea, and sea kelp, plus vitamins C and E – to defend against free radical damage. In addition, they enrich our products with specialized botanicals to provide targeted treatment that soothes and nourishes your skin. All of the cosmetics are free from parabens, artificial colors, fragrances, gluten, phthalates and talc to ensure that even the most sensitive skin stays beautiful.

I admire brands that have a social conscience and so it bares mention that Mineral Fusion donates a portion of their profits to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Here is their company statement: We want to contribute positively to social wellness through increasing awareness and compassion. Shockingly, one in four women will experience violence in their lifetime. Mineral Fusion partnered with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence to help raise awareness of this growing problem and show these brave women that they are not alone. We support the work of the NCADV by sharing a portion of our profits and by sharing product with NCADV sponsored shelters.

I have a lot of friends that use mineral powder foundations and have loved them but I fear them! The doggy pic pretty much sums up my fears :) I did try one years ago and didn’t like it, but your post definitely makes me want to reconsider. I bet the brush makes a bigger difference than one might think.

    • cindy

Definitely. I LOVE the flawless brush!!

  • http://www.lindasecretan.com Linda Secretan

Yes, tried it and found that I looked just like your sharpei — but not so adorable! I’d love to be proved wrong.

  • Sherry B.

I tried a drugstore mineral foundation powder a few years ago and I hated it! Maybe it just wasn’t a good product, but it left me looking greasy, sparkly, and accentuated lines that I didn’t even know that I had; I have shied away from them ever since. Perhaps mineral powders have improved since then, or like I said, it was just that particular brand. I’d be willing to give this one a shot.

    • cindy

      Sherry,
I tired a Jane bronzer that everyone on MUA raved about and I looked like a disco ball threw up on me–HATED it!

  • Eileen Morales

I’ve tried many mineral makeup brands but they always leave me so “dry” would love to try this out !

    • cindy

I always wear my moisturizer under. However, Mineral Fusion has a liquid tinted product that can be used under the powder fdtn for more hydration or used alone. Also, the hydrating spray is fab!

  • Janet

I have tried mineral foundation and was afraid of the same things you were afraid of……this brand looks very promising/interesting. You look lovely in the ‘after’ photo. :)

    • cindy

      Aww, thanks!

  • Tara

I’ve used mineral make up and like it.

  • DRTVrMoi

I love mineral foundation in a compact. All the benefits without the mess of loose powder all over the counter and cosmetic bag. Off to visit their site.

  • Karen0127

Minerals can be a bit drying so curious to see what this brand does. I Like Prime Beauty on Facebook

How well does it cover hyperpigmentation ? I haven’t had good luck using minerals to cover them up. I Like Mineral Fusion on Facebook.

    • cindy

      Karen,
I some sun spots on my face and it worked suprisingly well–better than any of the tinted moisturizers I’ve used with the exception of Laura Mericer.

  • Julie B

I bought a set from Princess Marcella Borghese, a set of mineral foundation, bronzer, and finishing powder. I liked the concept of it , but the color of the foundation was so white/light that I looked like a kabuki actor, so I threw it out immediately!
    Love that cute doggie pic!

  • Mamavalveeta03

I’ve tried Bare Escentuals…don’t like it!
And I’ve tried La Bella Donna (pressed minerals)…like it! So I’d be interested in trying this one if you say it’s great, Cindy!

The fear of looking “sparklely” at my age has prevented me from trying any of the BareMinerals makeup. This collection does look like something that I would love to try. Thank you !

I just tried the Mineral Fusion line a few days ago, and I was also impressed! I used to work as a make-up artist in a department store and I currently work at Whole Foods Market. Our marketing supervisor asked me to help out with a make-over event for Mother’s day this past weekend. I loved all the mineral fusion products that I tried on myself and on our customers!
