Maybelline Dare To Go Nude Color Tattoo Eyeshadows: Review, Pics, Swatches

Maybelline Color Tattoo

Maybelline’s Dare To Go Nude Color Tattoo EyeShadow collection ($6.99) has finally arrived and I’m thrilled with it. The collection consists of 6 limited edition shades. After looking all over town, I was finally able to find four of the six shadows at my local Rite Aid. The entire Maybelline Dare To Go Nude collection has been out for some time and includes two new shades of Master Glaze Blush, Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush and Bronzer (reviewed here), and The Buffs Lipstick Collection. For me, the Dare To Go Nude Color Tattoo EyeShadow collection is the star of the show.

The limited edition shades are:

  • Pure Nude –  pinky beige
  • Beige-ing Beauty – white gold with gold shimmer
  • Nude Compliment – cool taupe with a metallic sheen
  • Sleek and Spice – warm bronze with a metallic sheen
  • Caramel Cool – warm copper with a metallic sheen
  • Stroke of Midnight – black with silver shimmer

All of the eyeshadows are beautiful neutral shades that wear like iron and don’t crease or fade. The pigmentation is excellent; they work when sheered out as well as applied with more intensity. There is absolutely no need for an eyeshadow primer, Color Tattoo shadows do NOT budge; they lasted 12 hours on me.

Maybelline Dare to Go Nude

Beige-ing Beauty is quite frosty (the most of all), I prefer to wear it sheered out on the brow bone or inside corner. I compared it to L’Oreal Eternal Sunshine which is less sparkly and more yellow. Make Up For Ever #13 has a lot of pink in it–it maybe closer to Pure Nude, I’ll have to keep looking for that one. Nude Compliment and Sleek and Spice look very similar in the pan but are actually quite different. Nude Compliment is a cool taupe, while Sleek and Spice is more bronze with a definite warm undertone. Caramel Cool is a beautiful warm copper with a lovely sheen. L’Oreal Amber Rush is way more frosty with more pink.

Maybelline Swatches

L to R: Beige-ing Beauty, Nude Compliment, Caramel Cool & Sleek and Spice. The texture of these shadows is fabulous, they are creamy and easy to work with. I like to use a flat synthetic brush for the most seamless application.

Bottom Line: the Limited Edition Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows in the Dare To Go Nude Collection, are well worth a mere $6.99. In fact, I bought mine on a buy one get one half price sale! These cream shadows have excellent color payoff, a smooth texture and last a full 12 hours or more. The shades are beautiful and not as basic as you might think. Hurry and get to the drugstore, these are limited edition!

  1. I would wear these everyday!

  2. What pretty shades in your swatches! I have been looking all over for these, but I never thought of trying our one lowly little RiteAid! Maybe I should. In fact, the LE matte just showed up at 2 local CVS stores in January, months after they were launched. Love this. I’ll continue the hunt

  3. I haven’t found these yet but I definitely hope to. I want Nude Compliment for sure.
