Makeup Wars Battle of the Fall Face

This weeks bloggers in The Makeup Wars and putting together their best makeup looks to compete in The Battle of the Fall Face. I’ve used a combination of tried and true and new Fall 2012 products. Make sure to check out what the other Fall looks my competitors have come up with. Either click on the “last look” button above or click on the blog logos at the end of the post.

Here’s the breakdown and products used:

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation –the shade is a little light for me so I also used….

IT Cosmetics Anti-Aging Vitality Face Disk-I used the matte bronzer. I really like it–very natural and I love that it’s matte–who naturally tans glitter??

bareMinerals Correcting Concealer SPF 20 – I love, love this concealer! It is so, so creamy and melts into your skin–review coming soon.

Shiseido Camilla Blush Compact – I recently reveiwed this beautiful compact complete with two blushes and a highlighter. It’s perfect for fall and very pigmented!

Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow – the more I use this, the more I like it. It’s so easy to apply with an angled brow brush. In the past I would only use pencils because of their ease, but this is just as quick and easy plus it’s smudge and budge proof!! Blonde is a great match for me.

Make Up For Ever Eye Prime – I haven’t used anything eles since this launched this spring. It evens out lids, keeps eye shadow from fading and generally works wonders without being thick or getting cakey when dry!

LORAC Pro Palette – this eye shadow palette with a well thought-out collection of 16 matte and shimmer eye shadows in a must-have, especailly for us over 40 women!!  The top row of matte shades consists of:  White, Cream, Taupe, Light Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso & Black.  Bottom row: Nude (Shimmer), Champagne (Sparkle), Gold (Shimmer), Lt. Bronze (Shimmer), Pewter (Shimmer), Garnet (Shimmer), Deep Purple (Shimmer), Slate (Shimmer).

I used cream on the brow bone, shimmery garnet on the lid and matte sable in the crease, All of the shadows are nicely pigmented, even the matte shades. No worries my over 40 beauties, the shimmer is controlled and not the least bit glittery. These shadows are creamy, easy to blend and long lasting. The palette comes with a sample of Behind The Scenes Eye Shadow Primer (a great primer, by the way).  This is NOT a neutral palette–a good number of shades are represented–pink, purple, mauve, navy and slate. This is a great palette for beginners and beauty junkies alike!

Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier in Golden Triangle – a shimmery, olive-ish gold that is super soft and creamy.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara – one of my all time favorite mascaras–I love the brush and just look at my lashes!

Japonesque  Pink go curl Pocket Eyelash Curler – this little pink cutie will curl lashes and fits tidely in a makeup or travel bag. In addition, Japonesque will donate $1 to Breast Cancer Awareness with the purchase of this item.

LipFusion Lip Primer–  keep lipstick in place and prevents bleeding. A must have for over 40 women.

Too Faced La Créme Lipstick in Cinnamon Kiss – loving these new lipsticks! They are super comfortable to wear, very pigmented, glossy, smooth and moisturizing. . Cinnamon Kiss is a misleading name. You expect this shade to be a red or brick red, but it’s actually a medium berry color. With 16 gorgeous shades in four color families–nudes, spices, pinks and red, I’ll be picking up a few more!
