Remember when I posted about my favorite bright pink lipsticks/glosses for spring and summer? I have another to add to the list–Le Metier de Beaute Mums The Word Lip Creme! I would go so far as to say this bright pink gloss is about as close to perfect as we’ll get beauties.
Mums The Word is from the spring Ken Downing collection Haute House Hues Lip Creme Set ($65) exclusive to Neiman Marcus also containing Two Lips–a peachy nude. I have a plethora of peachy nudes and prefer brighter lips for summer anyway so Mums The Word is the obvious favorite for me. This set is still in stock!!
Le Metier de Beaute Lip Cremes are my very favorite formula for a gloss from ANY brand. They are light, smooth, non-sticky and glide on effortlessly. The best thing about them though, is that they last longer than any other lip gloss I have EVER tried!! Seriously, I can get at least 4 hours sometimes 5 out of these glosses. They are not high shine but more of a satin finish with dimension that makes lips appear fuller, smoother and just beautiful. I think that is what sets Le Metier de Beaute’s lip cremes apart and makes them so popular among beauty junkies. I just wish I could describe how luxurious they feel on the lips.
Mums The Word appears quite cool in the tube, but I find it to be very wearable and I look horrible in cool toned lips. Don’t let the brightness in the tube scare you! It is incredibly pigmented, opaque and adds just the right touch of sophistication. I can picture wearing Mums The Word with a white jeans and a boho top at a backyard barbecue as well as a long flowing summer swimsuit cover on a yacht.
There is also a nail lacquer in Mr. Downing’s Haute House Hues collection. Snappy Dragon ($18) is an BRIGHT fuchsia pink with a satin finish. I always use a clear top coat so that gives more shine to the finish. It has an almost neon quality to it that I absolutely love and is so on trend right now.
Le Metier de Beaute specifically formulates their nail lacquers to be 3-Free without formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Proposition 65-compliant.
The combination of Mums The Word and Snappy Dragon brings a happy smile to my face and screams summer!
