Kooba for Laura Mercier Color Palette

This beauties is the closest I will probably ever come to owning a trendy Kooba bag. I will never be able to afford one and even if I could, I don’t know that I could bring myself to spend that much on a handbag; but makeup–that’s a whole ‘nuther story! What a brilliant combo–Laura Mercier and Kooba! I wasn’t going to cave on this palette, after all it hit my Nordstrom in August and I waited until now, that shows some restraint doesn’t it? A little? A tiny bit? A tinch? Oh by the way, “tinch” is a word I made up–it’s a cross between teeny and a pinch= a tinch. I quite like it. I digress.

I justified this purchase because I really did need a new wallet. I have the same one my daughter bought me for Christmas when she was a sophomore in high school and she graduated college this year so I am overdue. I admit I was swayed by the fact that it’s a lovely wallet with a designer name but what really sold me were the colors in the Laura Mercier palette and the sophisticated polished look I knew I could achieve from it.

The palette includes:

  • Laura Mercier Lip Glazes in Berry, Lotus Bloom, and Soft Pink
  • Laura Mercier Eye Colors in Sable, Primrose, and Black Plum
  • Laura Mercier Cheek Colors in Rose and Plum
  • Laura Mercier Crème Glow Veil in Sunlit.
  • Plus Laura Mercier Mini Long Lash Mascara in Black and Eye Color/Smudge Double-Ended Brush

Everything you need all in one place for a full face! The top row consists of three lip glazes; berry, a beautiful neutral raspberry, lotus bloom, a slightly browned peach and soft pink, a light pink nude. When I swatched the lip glazes in the store, it sold me on the palette–all the shades are so pretty and wearable.  In the middle row, the eyeshadows are smooth, creamy and pigmented. Sable is a medium taupe which pulls a bit mauve on me; on a cooler complexion I think it would look more like a true brown taupe. Primrose is a pinked peach; these two shades both have a nice sheen/shimmer. Black Plum is a matte blackened eggplant shade that makes a gorgeous liner. The two blush shades are rose and plum and coordiante nicely with the rest of the palette. My only compliant with this palette is the highlighter in Sunlit; it could be creamier and is a bit too gold for my liking.  Also included is a double-ended shadow brush–I used one end to apply black plum as a liner and the opposite end to smudge the line. Laura added a mini long lash mascara which makes this palette incredibly practical for travel or to toss in your bag.

L to R–Rose blush, Cream Glow Veil in Sunlit, Plum blush

As for the wallet,  it’s a metallic quilted silver or is it bronze? It looks different in different light–no matter it’s lovely in any light. It has a mirror, slots for credit cards and a pocket for paper money, etc. The palette is covered with a plastic overlay to protect the makeup. I probably won’t use the wallet until the palette is empty–not that I ever finish a palette 🙂 Kooba did a wonderful job in designing this wallet, I would even use it as a clutch for an evening out because I go to sooo many balls and red carpet events I need something I can grab while I’m waiting for my driver 🙂

The Laura Mercier Kooba collaboration has produced a multi-functional palette/wallet of high quality that will allow a multitude of looks.

Here I have primrose on the lid, sable in the crease and black plum as an eye liner. I used rose for the blush and berry for the lip color.

And here’s the same look with the Soft Pink lip glaze

The Laura Mercier Kooba Palette is Limited Edition and available exclusively at Nordstrom and nordstrom.com

This is beautiful on you. I love everything about this palette. Might have to check it out. And did you get a new haircut? Supercute/flattering on you!!!

    • @Mamavalveeta03,
This palette is great, the colors sold me. The only thing is I would be scared to use as a wallet with the makeup in it.

And yes, new haircut but I was having a “flat” day–LOL
