Jane Iredale Country Weekend Collection: Review, Pics, Swatches

Jane-Iredale-Country-Weekend-Slide

As a neutral lover, I am smitten with the new Jane Iredale Country Weekend Makeup Collection. This enchanting mix of shades sets a sophisticated tone for spring. In Jane’s words:

“Who doesn’t love a peaceful weekend away in the country? The kind where you’re simply in awe of your gorgeous surroundings. That’s where this collection takes its cues. These breathtaking colors will set the ideal tone, whether your plans call for something quiet and casual or a bit more refined. Either way, all eyes will be on you.”

It’s a small collection, just three pieces but together, they create a pretty look unique to the wearer. The collection consists of:

  • The Limited Edition Getaway Eye Shadow Kit ($58)
  • Espresso Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner ($28)
  • Forever Peach Jut Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain ($25)

Those who read this blog on a regular basis know that neutral eye shadows are my jam. The Limited Edition Getaway Eye Shadow Kit have five captivating shades of PurePressed including a base shade.

  • Fresh Air – shimmery pearl base shade. This is perfect as an all-over, base shade or for the inner corner
  • Silence – pale peach
  • Footprints – matte green gray. Such a pretty shade straight from nature
  • Tea on the Porch – shimmery copper gold– my fave of course
  • Starry Night – deep, inky black with silver sparkle

Sorry about the palette not being pristine; I couldn’t wait to dive in and had to take pictures later. The good news is these shadows are SO buttery they feel more like a cream than powder. There is no fallout or powder “smoke” to kick up. They are all very pigmented with the exception of Silence, the peach shade. It is almost the same color as my skin so I needed more than one swipe of this one. They blend seamlessly and are crease free–so much so I skipped primer. This is perfect for the over 40 woman for a fresh, youthful look for spring and summer.

The Getaway Eye Shadow Kit is housed in an elegant rose gold mirrored compact with a dual-ended applicator. I usually throw these applicators away but I actually used this one and found it to grab the shadows nicely. The palette is slim enough for  travel too.

Forever Peach Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain ($25) is a multipurpose lip and cheek stain now available in a juicy pale peach. Most lip and cheek stains are drying, but this one feels like a hydrating balm and lasts much longer. The all natural stain adjusts to your own individual chemistry for a unique peach shade. On my very pale lips it starts out as barely-there and develops into a very flattering medium peach. Olive butter, avocado butter and wild rose wax soothe and soften lips while rose flower wax and beeswax nourish and moisturize. This is so, so comfortable on the lips I often put it on at home just to keep my lips hydrated! Also available in Forever Pink. Highly recommended!

Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner Espresso ($28) is a shimmery brown grey. It’s soft and creamy and has the formula is free of chemicals and irritants. This gel liner is water-resistant, long wearing and glides on smoothly. Nicely pigmented, this liner provides saturated color. Housed in a glass jar, I recommend you use a slanted eyeliner brush.

My Country Weekend Look: I used Fresh Air as a base, Silence on the lid, Tea on the Porch in the crease and Starry Night to line.
