Ipsy hits the mark again in June with their Pretty in Paradise bag. If you’re not familiar, Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag. For only $10 a month you get a great mix of full and sample size beauty products from great brands and a cute makeup bag too! I particularly like the Ipsy Glam Bag because for the most part, they keep your coloring and preferences in mind. If you ever decide to join, please use my link here.
The June Ipsy bag itself is a tropical design created by handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff–very cute!
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray (sample size $5?) – for soft, textured beachy waves with products you can afford, look no further than Marc Anthony! Just spray Beach Spray on wet hair and scrunch–don’t worry it won’t make your hair crunchy 80’s hair I promise!
Bombshell Lash Out Mascara (full size $15) – I am really, really disappointed with this mascara. I opened it and the stench of chemicals was SO strong I didn’t want it anywhere near my eyes and I threw it away immediately. I’ve received other Bombshell products in my Ipsy bags and been very pleased so I was disappointed that I wasn’t even able to try this AND that it was one on the full sized products! Sorry, I tossed it before I took a pic.
NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel (full size $5) – this gloss is soft and smooth and smells like a sugar cookie! Apple Strudel is a peachy pink with creamy opaque coverage that doesn’t feels sticky. A great everyday shade for all skin tones.
Nicka K Shimmer Eyeliner ($5) – this liquid eyeliner is water, smudge, and fade-resistant. The fine foam tip applicator allows for precision lining glides across lids without pulling. The sparkle is quite subtle but still adds shine. The shade green was in my bag; it’s actually more of a turquoise and I love it! There are 14 shades available!
Laneige BB Cushion Foundation (sample size $8?) – I’ve been hearing so much about this brand that I was thrilled to be able to try the foundation. The sample card came with a puff applicator and samples in fair, medium and dark. This BB cream offers light coverage, a 50 SPF and a formula with mineral water. The delivery system is unique; a sponge saturated with product that you dip into. Unfortunately the fair was too light and the medium was too dark but I mixed them together and came up with something workable. I would have to wear this more to give a fair assessment, but it seems that it’s a bit too shiny for my taste. I was however, really glad I got a chance to try it.
Bottom Line: another great bag from my favorite beauty subscription, Ipsy. The only miss was the Bombshell mascara–a big fail. That said, I got approx. $38 worth of product for $10 so I’m happy.
