In my series on Cosmetic Brands You Need To Know, we started off with the fabulous Rae Cosmetics, then on the girly Heidi D Cosmetics, now let me know introduce you to 29 Cosmetics. Hmmm, I wonder if that means we can stay 29 forever? I’m certainly going to
29 Cosmetics founder Lydia Mondavi infuses each item in her beauty line with grape seed extract, a super anti-oxidant that combats free radicals and neutralizes signs of aging in the skin. Does the name sound familiar? That’s because Lydia is married to Robert Mondavi Jr. of the famed Napa wine dynasty.
A true veteran of the spa and beauty industry herself, Mondavi made her name designing and launching spa, beauty and skincare products within the luxury market. Lydia has since co-founded two wine brands, Spellbound and Medusa wines, and has combined her knowledge of the winemaking process into her her own beauty brand, 29 Cosmetics.
Grape seed extract, a natural byproduct of the Mondavi family’s wine making, is a new and groundbreaking player on the anti-aging skincare scene. The extract is 20 times more efficient than vitamin C and 50 times more effective than vitamin E as a free radical assailant. All 29 Cosmetics products are certified age-protecting in addition to offering the benefits of clearer smoother skin, evening pigmentation and improving overall texture.
The 29 woman is elegant, represents a state of mind…She cares for her skin, and knows that in order to maintain youthfulness she must nourish the skin while protecting it from the harms of everyday living. The 29 woman embraces life and understands that Knowledge Is Beautiful™.

Dew Grape Seed Age Protecting Lip Glosses ($24) are enriched with grape seed antioxidants to nourish and protect. More powerful than Vitamin E and 20 times more efficient than Vitamin C, the grape seed is highly moisturizing and supposedly protects lips from free radicals while giving a more youthful and vibrant appearance. Just what we over 40 women need! That’s a lot to pack into one little gloss dontcha think?
Packaging is elegant with a silver top and bottom and the 29 logo engraved on the end of the cap, the gloss applicator is a doe foot.

There are 12 luscious shades in the line from neutrals to pinks, browns and reds. I was sent Sparkling Champagne, a simply gorgeous pale gold with lots of shimmer. I prefer lots of color in my lipsticks and glosses so I use Sparkling Champagne over other lipsticks to enhance them. It works beautifully and some how manages make my thin lips look plumper and smooth out those pesky lines I hate. It’s comfortable to wear and lasts longer than most glosses.
Shades include:
- Hang Time
- Pink Champagne
- Pouting Pinot
- Jam N Zin
- Sparkling Champagne
- Sparkling Fumé
- Top It Off
- Lay It Down Cab
- French Oak
- Napa Sunset
- Let It Breathe
- Sparkling Pinot
There are also lipsticks available: RESERVES Grape Seed Age Protecting Moisturizing Lipstick SPF 20 ($25) . These are available in 22 shades all with names related to wine and the Napa Valley.

I’m very intrigued with this line and would love to try more products. 29 Cosmetics has a complete line of: foundations, pressed powders, bronzers, blushes, eye shadows, eye liners, mascaras, lip liners, lipsticks, lip glosses and lip therapies, a remarkable protecting atomizer, plus an organic, pure and paraben free skin care collection.
29 Cosmetics are available at Neiman Marcus and online at www.29cosmetics.com and at Cake Plate Boutique in Napa Valley.
Bottom Line: Nourishing anti-aging ingredients, meticilous formulas and elegant packaging make this a line worth checking out!

I will have to check them out. Thank you for the post!
I’ve seen the brand on Neiman’s website but wasn’t sure what they are like. That gloss looks quite pretty.
