Many many of you have commented about how long and lush my eyelashes are looking lately, so I wanted to share my secret. First, here are a few pictures that have garnered the most attention.
#1: Get RevitaLash stat! RevitaLash Advanced is a remarkable product!! RevitaLash Advanced is ophthalmologist-developed and was deemed “as safe for use as an eyelash conditioner.” According to their website, RevitaLash®was developed by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff as a special gift for his wife, Gayle, while she was recovering from breast cancer. Intensive chemotherapy treatments had damaged Gayle’s once beautiful eyelashes, leaving them sparse, breakable and fragile. Use just once daily (I use at bedtime) and you will start to see longer, fuller lashes in about 3-4 weeks. I have had ZERO side effects–no burning, itching, stinging and my peepers are still blue!! A note though, when you stop using RevitaLash, your lashes will stop growing and return to normal. Read my full review here.
Revitalash Eyelash Conditioner retails for $150 for a six-month supply and $90 for a three-month supply–SO worth it!
#2 Japonesque Go Curl Pocket Eyelash Curler ($16) The innovative JAPONESQUE® Go Curl Eyelash Curler creates a deep, dramatic lash curl in a single squeeze. Prevents kinked, pinched, or broken lashes often associated with traditional curlers. Compact and portable, the lever locks into place for consistent pressure for years to come. Your lashes will STAY curled all day no matter what mascara you use! This is designed to make your lashes look like they are standing at attention, rather lashes are swept up and out. It’s so small it’s perfect for a makeup bag or for travel!
#3 COVERGIRL LastBlast Clump Crusher Mascara ($6.99)- Can I just say WOWZA! This drugstore mascara is a real gem! It does EXACTLY what it says–no clumps! The brush has pointy bristles of different lengths and thickness to allow the mascara to get in between lashes and pull them apart without leaving clumps behind. The curve of the brush is just the right shape the cover all your lashes and it’s easy to use. Read my full review here.
COVERGIRL promises that you can apply up to 30 coats of mascara before Clump Crusher will actually clump! Is it true? Does the Clump Crusher live up to the claims? Click here to see 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic’s video where she applied 30 coats! By the way, this is an excellent mascara to layer underneath a more volumizing mascara.
Clump Crusher is in select stores now and nationwide in January of 2013, it retails for $6.99. If you see a bright green neon mascara tube in your local drugstore–grab it!
#4 Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara ($28)– Lancôme’s most recent addition to their vast mascara offerings, is Hypnose Star Mascara. The cone shaped wand is similar to Lancôme’s Doll Lashes mascara with an important twist. The dual-action brush has a flat side for optimizing product deposit at the lash line while the rounded side separates, defines, and lengthens. I believe the “star” factor comes into play with the formula’s “black-diamond effect” that imparts a glossy gel-like finish.
After using Hypnose Star for a week straight, I’m more adept at using the cone brush and liking the mascara overall better. However, if you are looking for lots of volume, you may want to look elsewhere. The strong fragrance may be a turn off for some as well as the learning curve for the brush. You can using Hypnose Star alone does NOT have the impact of layering CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher and Star together.
Step #1 -Use a lash growth serum. I highly recommend RevitaLash Advanced
Step #2 – Get a good eyelash curler. I LOVE my Japonesque Go Curl Pocket Eyelash Curler, it holds a curl and provided just the right sweep for flirty lashes
Step #3- Get thee a good “base mascara.” You NEED to try CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara--trust me you’ll love it, I’m on my second tube and bought one as a stocking stuffer for all the girls in the family.
Step #4-Choose a good volumizing mascara. Lancôme Hypnose Star plays very well with LashBlast Clump Crusher, but you could probably use something less expensive too. I also like IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes! and Benefit’s They’re Real and they are both
cheaper less expensive.
