Part two in my series on Cosmetics brands you need to know about features Heidi D Cosmetics. I was first made aware of Heidi D Cosmetics last summer when I attended IMATS (International Makeup Artists Trade Show) in Los Angeles. I wanted to check the brand out then but the booth was always so crowded. Not surprising based on my test of the lip products.
Before we get into the review, let me introduce you to Heidi.
Established in 2000, local make-up artist Heidi Denha-Herfy blends inspiration from the colour, energy and rhythm of the mid-west with a passion for high-quality, high-performance pigments, micas and bases.
The result? A brand that delivers photo-shoot perfection with the power to stay fabulous wherever your day takes you.
I tested Heidi’s newest line of lip glosses, The Bossy Collection. Having had this term used to describe me most of my life, I can really get behind this line. Although “bossy” suits me, gloss may not be such a fitting name for this–liquid lipstick would be a better moniker I think. The texture is smoother and creamier than most glosses. Good-for-your-lips ingredients include Vitamin D to keep lips moisturized and to prevent stickiness.
There are a generous 20 colors available in varying shades of pinks, peaches, reds, and nudes. Choose a bold dramatic look or a soft natural one. I tried Kiss The Bride which for me is a My Lips But Better shade. I honestly didn’t know there was a My Lips But Better shade out there for me. I have NEVER found one that didn’t either deliver too much color or totally wash me out. Eureka, now I’ve found it! I absolutley adore this shade! I always thought (and have often commented on this blog) how devoid of color my lips are. What I found in Heidi D Kiss The Bride is that my lips are actually a soft pinky/beige/nude shade. Who’d have thunk? This color matches my lips EXACTLY. The high shine and soft texture are so comfortable to wear. I love the packaging on these–it looks like a less expensive version of the Ellis Faas bullet packaging. Cool!
The Bossy Collection glosses retail for $17 and include these girly colors:
Bachelorette, Belly Dancer, Berry Sexy, Bridezilla, Citron, Cupids Dream, Detroit Diva, High School Sweetheart, Kiss Couture, Kiss The Bride, Lip Diamonds, Mrs. Mocha, Perfectionista, Pink Kitty, Prince Charming, Princess Pink, Tipsy, Victorian Butterfly and Wedding Cake.
I was also sent a gloss wand ($14) in the regular line, Bachelorette. These glosses contain collagen peptides that are supposed to increase lip volume while reducing lip lines. Surprisingly there is no tingling or stinging sensation. This is very lightweight with a pearly finish that doesn’t feather or bleed. Barchelorette is pretty much sheer with gold sparkle and it is available in the Bossy Collection too

I like the colors you reviewed especially Bachlorette. Very pretty and flattering!
