Getting to Know You, Getting to Know All About You

Getting to know you
Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you
Getting to hope you like me

Getting to know you
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you
Getting to know what to say

Haven’t you noticed
Suddenly I’m bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I’m learning about you
Day by day

We have a great relationship you and I; we have lots in common, are never at a lost for conversation, we support each other (our habits anyway), we respect each others opinion, we are together by choice (hehe), we don’t expect to be each others ‘everything,” we never argue about finances, I am committed to you and I hope you are committed to reading Prime Beauty every day. Plus– hey, we have excellent communication!

So, in an effort to take our relationship to the next level and get to know each other better, I thought I would pose a few questions to you—in a poll format. Just copy and paste the questions with your answers and post in the comments. I’ll answer too just to be fair :)

Would you rather be on ABC’s Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC’s What not to Wear?

Definitely What Not To Wear. I LOVE that show! I DVR it if I can’t be there to watch it on the appropriate night. Which by the way I hate that they moved to Tuesdays without even asking me! Love Stacey and Clinton (especially Clinton), they are so funny and cute together. Sometimes it does get a bit “formulamatic” but for the most part I think they try to stay within the contestant’s sensibilities.

If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?

It would have to mascara. To me, a naked eye is too natural. You don’t have to have eye shadow or eye liner or anything else, but mascara is a must beauties! When I was in my early thirties I would skip makeup on the weekends but always wore mascara.

Best Valentines gift ever?

Hmmm, I would have to say the handmade Valentine’s cards I used to get when my daughter was small. The best though was when she was in 7th or 8th grade and had to do an essay on the person she most admired and it was sniff, sniff ME! I still have the essay in the pretty heart shaped folder. Of course when I found it recently and showed it to the kid, she said “Oh yeah, I remember that, I couldn’t rhink of anyone else to write about.” That kid has a way of deflating my ego :)

Latest beauty acquisition?

I’m trying hard not to buy too much this year, but I did order a new eyelash curler that I needed desperately and a NARS Velvet Gloss pencil in Happy Days. I ordered sight unseen and then was able to see them at Sephora this past weekend–now I want New Lover–a medium strawberry pink and Club Mix- a plummy pink . Oh and the Hollywoodland eye pencil is to-die-for!

Do you collect anything?

I collect tea pots but don’t have them displayed right now, I’m trying to think of a creative way to do it. I’ve had other collections in the past but being a Sagittarius, I get bored with them.

White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?

Milk! Especially Cadbury’s!! Or white, I hate dark chocolate—of course I do,  it’s good for you.

Copy and paste with your answers!

  1. 1. What not to wear. I’d love advice on the perfect way to put outfits together for my structure.

    2. Eyelash curler. Then even if they didn’t use makeup or mascara, they would have that little extra eye lift and slightly more spectacular lashes.

    3. Best V Day gift ever I think is the cupcakes my husband gave me this week. Cuz I had a cupcake craving BAD.

    4. Wonder woman. All

    5. At this point, I just collect makeup. Used to collect teacups, but ran out of space for those and am happy with my small collection. Oh yeah, and coca cola paraphernalia in the kitchen.

    5. Prefer a darker milk chocolate. My favorite is Hershey’s with almonds.

    • Good point with the eyelash curler–I didn’t consider that :) Coca Cola stuff in the kitchen sounds adorable! I jsut changed my kitchen to red. And helloooooo cupcakes? I’m sooo there!

    1. I’d be on What Not to Wear, because if I was on Extreme Home Makeover, it would probably mean I was dying of something awful.
If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?
2.My church, at which my husband is the Pastor, already jokingly calls me “Queen of Community Presbyterian”, so I would have to tell all of my peons to use concealer. Preferably, Bobbi Brown.
    Best Valentines gift ever?
3.My best Valentine’s gift ever was when my husband decided to wear a wedding band. Long story short: He used to be a Forest Ranger, and it would have actually been dangerous to wear a ring while fighting fires and working with equipment. So he did it for me when he quit!!!

4.It hasn’t arrived yet, but I just ordered the Becca “Avalon” palette, at the prodding of one of you wonderful (evil…lol) beauty bloggers!

    5. Does lipgloss in a pinky-beige color count?
    White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?
    6. Dark. Always Dark. For the health benefits, of course. Along with my red wine. For the health benefits….

    • Mama,
LOL at the “dying of something awful” remark about Extreme Makeover! Cracked me up!!!!
That is the sweetest thing for your hubby to do–truly touching, it almost makes me have faith in men again….almost
You are gonna LOVE BECCA avalon!!!!!!!!!!!! You HAVE to tell me what you think when it arrives.
      Makeup always counts!
Of course for the health benefits, of course

  3. Isn’t what not to wear the one where they throw out all your clothes and then leave you with like 2 or 3 outfits? Um NO! I’ll do the extreme home makeover instead since my house is wacky and in need of a makeover.

I would give all my subjects blush, lots of it. I love blush!

We don’t celebrate Valentines Day here. Last year my husband surprised me anyway and bought me one of those heart shaped boxes of chocolate and then helped me devour it. So I guess that’s it. lol

I bought a Rimmel lip gloss and some false eyelashes. This was all that was left of the gigantic CVS makeup sale that I wanted, yesterday. In the weeks before then I bought tons of other makeup.

I collect makeup and nail polish. I’ve never thought of anything interesting to collect. My mom collects teapots too though. Her kitchen cabinets are the kind that don’t go all the way to the ceiling, so that there is about a foot of space between the top of the cabinet and the ceiling. She has them displayed there.

Dark chocolate is my favorite, but I won’t turn down any of the others either.

    • I know what you mean about the space above the kitchen cabinets. My cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. I’m thinking of getting a shelf or something.

  4. Would you rather be on ABC’s Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC’s What not to Wear?
–Extreme Home MakeOver because I’m renting now. But, wait, I couldn’t give up all the decorating. I love that part. Ok, so I’ve changed my mind… I’d rather be on What not to Wear.
If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?
–Not to be a copycat, but I have to go with mascara too. It just makes us look more awake.
    Best Valentines gift ever?
–Oh my gosh, is it terrible that I don’t really remember them? I imagine that when I was married, my husband bought me jewelry (he was sweet like that). This year I got a text from my not-so-much-I-don’t-want-to-be-in-a-relationship-after-all-not-actual-boyfriend-&-confused guy. (I didn’t respond.) Oh well! The best lately is that my 4 yr old niece is so cute and sweet that she kept giving me the candy that she got from classmates and then ended up just bringing me the bag and saying the rest is for me. When I asked why, she said because I’m her aunt. Oh, when life was straight-forward and that simple; I could learn a thing or two from these girls! The smiles I get from my nieces all year round are more precious than any Valentine’s gift could ever be. : )

–Mascara. Since I stopped using the last brand, I’ve been searching for a new one. I’m liking the Rimmel one I have now. It lengthens! I just also want one that washes off easily.
    Do you collect anything?
–I used to. Unicorns when I was younger. :) Then, I moved on to shot glasses. Hhhmmm, never thought about the extreme switch there until now. haha! Shot glasses, though, not because I’ve ever been much of a drinker, but because I was doing a lot of traveling. It was a great way to get a small souvenir.
    White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?
–MILK. My mom even switches from her semi-sweet chips to milk when she knows I’ll be around to enjoy cookies she’s baked. (She’s so wonderful in LOTS of ways!) Although, I am learning to appreciate darker and finer chocolates, too!

    • Aww, little kids are the best! When I see my great niece she runs up to me, screams Auntie! and jumps in my arms! My sister (her grandmother) said when I left she turned to her and said “I miss my Auntie So much!”

      • Sweet! That’s awesome! I LOVE the jumping up and down with arms up and open wide yelling “Auntie Kimmie!!” Wow, nothing compares. (Haha… we had an impromptu Shake Your Booty Party last night, too cute. Keeps me young!)

      • lol My niece said something like that to my sister. She was leaving when our 3 yr old niece said to her, “I miss you already! Don’t go!”

    • Kimberely,
I have one of those sort-of-off-and-on boyfriends too. I got a phone call and not a very sweet or interesting one at that! he did bring restaurant food over on the weekend though–whatevah

      • Aww, I wish you at least would have had a sweet Valentine’s call. I just don’t get these guys. I hope your weekend dinner was good, though.
I don’t need much… just nice thoughtful gestures would be perfect to let me know he’s thinking of me. I’m simple, pretty “low maintenance”. Lately I have to agree with you: Whatevah. Thank goodness for great girlfriends!! What would we do without ‘em? :)

  5. Would you rather be on ABC’s Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC’s What not to Wear?
~ I rent and will probably never own another house since I’m single and am not paid what I’m worth… =) so definitely What Not to Wear. Not because I watch it all the time, but because I definitely need a makeover. I would wear black pants and whatever shirt I come across in the closet every day of the week and not think a thing about it. I am not one to buy new clothes and I really do not like to shop (Eeeek! Sorry, LOL).

If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?
~ I would have to say numerous colors of eyeliner because that is the one thing I cannot live without. But it would have to be a good one that does not smear, yet comes off easily when you want it to (have still yet to find one like that). I like the colors on my eyelid when I don’t want a lot of makeup because it’s quick and still gives me a little pop of color.

    Best Valentines gift ever?
~ Haven’t had a lot of these over the years except for when my kids were little (still have all of them from 5 kids, and yes they fill a box lol).
But THIS year was different!! =) I received a bouquet of Stargazer Lilies and Iris (my favorites) from a friend I graduated 8th grade with and haven’t seen since 1981! We recently got back in touch through wonderful Facebook. He even posted a picture of us from our 8th grade graduation dance and wrote “Can you tell I had the hots for her?!” How sweet is that?!?!?! =)

    Latest beauty acquisition?
~ I would have to say eyeliner. LOL I keep trying different ones to no avail. Maybe you can help since you are the “Beauty Queen”!

    Do you collect anything?
~ Actually I collect anything to do with wild cats like bedding, pillows, pictures, ceramics, lingerie, etc. (Don’t worry… not clothes! lol) Tigers, Lions, Cougars, Leopards, Jaguars, and especially Black Panthers and Cheetahs. There is just something sexy and exotic about them because of their strength and “fierceness”.

    White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?
~ Definitely Milk Chocolate. Just like you, I know dark chocolate is healthy but I find it too bitter. That is not going to satisfy my sweet tooth! LOL

    • I agree with eyeliners Kandi. It’s a great way to add some color without going overboard. You shouls try bronze, brown or green with your eyes. Your flowers are gorgeous and I’m happy for you and your new (or old) friend.

P.S.-I have Cadbury eggs for us –oh yeah, milk chocolate.

  6. Would you rather be on ABC’s Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC’s What not to Wear?
Extreme Home Makeover since I’d cry if my body faults were available for everyone to see. Plus I know they’d throw out 99% of what I own.

If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?
    A slant tip Tweezerman tweezers.

    Best Valentines gift ever?
I don’t remember – I think just having the love of my family.

    Latest beauty acquisition?
Becca Enigma e/s palette from Fallen Angel

    Do you collect anything?
Things with hearts on them but I’ve calmed down on that since it becomes overwhelming to have so much stuff around.

    White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?
Milk or Dark. If I’m near a box of chocolates I’d go for dark first but when it comes to candy bars I prefer milk chocolate. And my dog is milk chocolate in color so I really should pick milk!

    • Oooh, tweezerman is a goood answer! I really want to know what you think of BECCA enigma–it’s been on my wishlist like forevah!

  7. Would you rather be on ABC’s Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC’s What not to Wear?

Home Makeover. I doubt I’d be a willing victim in WNTW. And the kitchen and bathroom need work.

If you were “Queen of All The Land”, what beauty product would you gift to every female citizen?

Why, the magical gift of the perfect cleanser and moisturizer. It’s what I desire.

    Best Valentines gift ever?

It’s not an occasion we celebrate hugely. Whichever one did NOT involve my 2 guys giving me balloons. I hate them!

    Latest beauty acquisition?

Some cool blue eyeshadows. I might do a Drew Carey mimi thing just to amuse myself. A line of haircare that promises miracles. We’ll see. The hair FEELS good – that’s a start.

    Do you collect anything?

Note cards, stationery and greeting cards in elegant or unusual designs. I still believe in snail mail. And I do use them, so they’re a practical vice.

    White, Milk or Dark Chocolate?

White chocolate is not REAL chocolate. I like those acai blueberry dark chocolate things. In a pinch, chocolate covered raisins – but the dark chocolate ones don’t taste good to me.
