Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips ($2.29) launched in the US in November and we here out in the boondocks are finally seeing it on store shelves. This teeny, tiny mini jar of Vaseline has a rosy tint with a berry vanilla flavor to keep dry lips super soft and hydrated all winter. And we certainly want soft, smooth kissable lips for Valentine’s Day am I right? Hell yeah!

Similar to Smith’s Rosebud Salve, there is a barely there tint with a nice glossy finish. There is also a lovely VERY subtle fragrance; very light and fresh. Rosy Lips is perfect for natural or no- makeup days when you want to just want a pinch of lip color and/or  a dab of mascara.  Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips keeps lips hydrated and protected from harsh winter wind and cold. Our temps have been in single digits during the day (8°) and down to minus at night (-10) for the last week. Of course this has to week I’ve been working late and having to walk across campus so having this teeny tiny jar in my pocket has saved my lips. This IS Vaseline so it does has petroleum jelly in it. I don’t mind it but if you have an aversion to petroleum jelly stay away and try another lip balm. Don’t be fooled, this jar is itsy bitsy–about the size of a quarter however that works well for a pocket, a car console a desk drawer, etc.

I buy a lot of different brands and flavors of lip balms. Not only are my lips moisturized (albeit with different levels of hydration), I like having a bunch of different flavors to choose from at any given moment.

Always keep your lips moisturized! Don’t bite your lips. You can do a simple exfoliation with a washcloth, or DIY with coconut oil using either cane sugar or brown sugar, depending on the condition of your lips. Cane sugar will give you a gentler scrub, but if your lips are in bad condition, use the brown sugar.

Florida has been my home for many years so I don’t really have to think about dry winter lips. I grew up in Wisconsin though and the winters’ are brutal. It’s been commented above me but it’s true. I always used Vaseline on my lips at night & sometimes during the day too. I’ve never seen this little red tined Vaseline though. It’s really nice! :)

  • Erica K

exfoliate regularly and balm up regularly!
