Splurge vs Steal: Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Being a Sagittarius I get bored easily, so this week instead of Frugal Friday, we’re changing things up a bit and taking a page (literally) from a popular magazine and featuring a Splurge vs. Steal. I had almost given up on drugstore mascaras, especially after last weeks Frugal Friday, but like a fish to a lure, I was “hooked” when I saw the shiny green tube of Revlon Grow Luscious mascara. Is it a dupe for Lancome Precious Cells?

Lancome Precious Cells Mascara ($29) – Precious Cells is Lancome’s newest addition to their iconic mascara line; Lancome Definicils is the best selling mascara in the world. I’ve gone through two tubes of this mascara and have been wearing it non- stop since last June. It defines, lengthens and separates beautifully. The difference with this mascara over other high end brands is the ingredients; they are designed to condition your lashes. I have noticed my lashes are softer v.s. other high end brands.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara ($9) – this mascara is supposed to help you grow new longer, thicker lashes a la Latisse. It seemed like a big gimmick to me and I haven’t used it long enough to see if it works in that aspect. What Revlon Grow Luscious does do is define, lengthen and separate beautifully, sound familiar?  The big brush, which I’m usually not fond of, seems to work with this mascara. The formula is remarkable, does not clump or weigh lashes down.

See for yourself!

One eye has Lancome, one eye has Revlon. Can you tell which is which? Betcha can’t! Why spend 3 times the cash for the same results! Vote in the poll below and I’ll spill the beans on which is which in a post tomorrow!
