Every time I pass the Pacifica display (which is woefully small) at my local Target, I want something. Fragrance, skincare, body care, makeup–something from the line! With my love of eye shadow and pretty packaging how could I resist this lovely palette? The fact that it was on sale for a mere $10 bucks and change made me finally pull the trigger Heck the regular price is only $14, I sound like I’m a real penny pincher!
The Pacifica Enlighten Eye Brightening Mineral Eye Shadow Palette consists of four summery shades and promises to brighten and enlighten my eyes–I’m SO there!
- Skinny Dip- Matte nude base, a universal brightener. Perfect for using on the inner eye to add brightness.
- Coral Sand- A satin lid base or highlighter.
- Golden- A perfect gold with just the right amount of shimmer. Use on the lids or line the eyes.
- Urchin- An irridecent jeweled purple with gold tones. Use dry as a shadow, wet as a liner. Perfect for smudging and a great substitute for black.
These are mineral shadows infused with coconut water for a velvety, creamy finish and they blend beautifully.I especially like the mix of shimmer and satin finishes and striking colors. Skinny Dip is as advertised; a great brightener or to highlight the brow bone, Coral Sand is a lovely subtle peach, Golden is a yellow gold and Urchin is a medium purple with no red undertones-yay! I do wish they packed a teeny bit more pigment but you can choose to wear them wet for more oomph. I always use eye shadow primer and they lasted the entire day for me without creasing.
This palette is surprisingly versatile; wear Skinny Dip on the brow bone and inner corner of the eye, Coral Sand on the lid, Golden in the crease and line with Urchin for a pretty summer daytime look. For evening, wear Golden on the lid, Urchin in the crease and smoked out under the lower lash line.
The cardboard packaging is a bit flimsy–it might see some wear if it’s going to be rattling around in your makeup bag, but overall this was a fabulous buy–even at regular price!
Pacifica mineral eye shadows are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and formulated without sulfates, petroleum, parabens, SLS or phthalates.

Bottom Line: Pacifica has just ventured into the world of makeup and if this is any indication of what’s to come, I’m totally down! A great brand with quality products, awesome packaging at drugstore prices–yes please!
