Ooooh, don’t these colors make you want to jump into them and swim around a little? Oh, that’s just me? Well you certainly can’t deny they are beautiful and conjure images of summer. Paradiso is on the left and Naturalist is on the right. These are the newest shades from the mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner and Shadow collection. These cuties are both a cream eye shadow and a liner with two, two, two shades in one and retail for just $11!
They have a smooth, creamy formula that is nicely pigmented. They work beautifully on the lids as a wash of color, however they disappoint as a liner. They don’t apply nearly as smoothly and tend to skip. That didn’t even bother me as much as the flaking I got along my lash line. The shadow really is budge proof–after swatching on my arm, I needed a heavy duty remover to get it off. I do love using cream shadows especially in the summer; they deliver a quick , easy and waterproof look. Unfortunately, the liner takes away from the overall value and quality of the product.
The packaging is great. They come housed in a round compact with a mirror and a flip-top cover to keep them from drying out. I do really love the idea of the airtight cover, but in practicality it doesn’t work very well. I struggled trying to get the compact to open–it took quite a few tries and this will likely frustrate some people.
Paradiso pairs a cobalt blue with a chartreuse green. Don’t be afraid, the chartreuse color is actually more of a gold green making more wearable than you might think by looking at it in the pan. The cobalt blue makes a lovely liner shade for summer. Since these aren’t ideal for liners, I would extend the color up from the lash line and blend with a good synthetic brush.
Naturalist pairs my two fav shades for summer; bronze and teal. These two shades seem a bit more sparkly than Paradiso. Wearing the bronze on the lid and the teal as a liner is the combination most would wear, but why not spice it up a bit and do the opposite? Or wear the teal in the corner of the eye as well. Summer is one of the few times we over 40 women can get away with wearing brights, so go for it!
Bottom Line: the mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner and Shadow work well as a shadow but not so much as a liner. As for frugal–maybe. These are awfully small with only 0.04 oz. of product. For a few dollars more, you can buy a MAC Fluidline or Paint Pot and get twice the amount of product. Good try mark, almost there!
