Legend has it that for many years, L’Oreal Elnett hairspray could only be found in Europe and hairdressers would ‘sneak’ cases in their luggage to bring back to the U.S. Who knows if this is true, but I will say this–the formula is unique. It is not sticky, and doesn’t have that ‘glue’ hairspray feeling. Rather, it is more like a powder, both coming out of the nozzle and on your hair. It provides hold but leaves hair flexible. Your hair looks shiny and bouncy but the style still holds. Genius! You can actually just brush through your hair to remove it with no flaking or residue. Spraying on the roots gives me just the extra volume I’m always looking for too. The downside? Many people don’t like the smell of L’Oreal Elnett and it does smell powdery but it dissipates quickly so that’s not a factor for me. There is also a UV filter version to help protect hair from the sun’s rays. L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray can be found at Target stores nationwide for about $14.99 a can.
Note: I know what your thinking–yes, I do. You’re thinking “Uh, Cindy, exactly what planet have you been living on where $14.99 is cheap for hair spray”? Okay, here’s the deals ladies. I have tried Bumble & Bumble for $25, Frederick Fekaai for $30 and Big Sexy Stay and Play and I think L’Oreal Elnett is better. The difference is the flexibility. I have not found a hairspray that would hold and still not make my hair sticky, crunchy and basically glued to my head until Elnett. You really should give it a try.
