I will admit I have some raggedy brushes in my collection, so after the last washing I decided I needed some new eye brushes. I wanted to try Eco Tools not only to save a few bucks but also because I’ve heard so many great things about them.
EcoTools brushes are made of 100% cruelty free, soft talkon bristles, recycled aluminum ferrules, bamboo handles and come with a natural cotton and hemp storage case. The Eco Tools company is so green that they donate 1% of all sales to FOR THE PLANET.
I choose the Bamboo 6 pc. eye brush set which includes:
- A Large Eye Brush to apply and blend shadows
- An Angled Crease Brush to apply color to the crease for definition
- A Petite Shading Brushfor use with deepr or accent colors
- A Highlighting Brush for under the brow or the inside corners of the eye
- A Smudge Brush to smudge shadow or liner along the lash line for a smoky look
- A fold up case with mirror
All this for a pittance of  $8.99 at my local drugstore. I was almost embarrassed at how little I paid. I said almost. These brushes are soft, dense  and get the job done–they pick up color and don’t shed. I cannot abide brushes that shed, it makes me angry. And Mama don’t like to be angry. I will say this particular set of brushes are small and therefore probably better suited for travel than everyday use. Here is a cool video on how to create a smoky eye with this eye brush set.
Smokey Eye with Eco Tools 6 pc. Eye Brush Set
This is the entire Eco Tools display:
The Eco Tools Bronzer Brush is fast becoming a favorite of makeup junkies. It’s super soft and dense and can be used for bronzer, blush or face powder. This will definitely be my next Eco Tools purchase, especially for $12!
I also spotted these cute makeup bags designed by actress and environmental activist Alicia Silverstone. They are earth friendly and:
- Made with natural hemp material.
- Lining is made with recycled plastic (PET).
- Floral design is printed with non-toxic inks.
- Hangtag printed on tree-free stone paper.

I think Eco-Tools are really awesome brushes! I haven’t spotted this new set yet – but I’ve got my eye on it:)
