My friend and fellow blogger Marcia from the Beauty Info Zone is the Foundation Queen and she is “singing” the praises of AeroMinerale Makeup Mist. Read on for her awesome review!
I know there’s a song called Dancing Queen but there really should be one called Foundation Queen. I’d be singing that one all the time. I’m always trying out new foundations. Another item that we can put in the column of “things Marcia loves”. I’d like to share with you one of my favorites: AeroMinerale Makeup Mist.
AeroMinerale Makeup Mist is one part of the Classified Cosmetics line. They have 3 foundations, all of which are amazing. I’ve used their original foundation, ERA, for over 8 years. I reviewed it here on Emakemeup.com with the raves that it rightly deserves. Â Since then I’ve learned more “tricks” to make the foundation easier to use. The same tricks are relevant to AeroMinerale, their newest foundation, so I’ll share those with you in this review.
AeroMinerale has all the wonderful aspects of the original but it has a few additions that make it especially appealing. First is the price. This gem is only $14.95 for a 1.5 oz can. The pretty pink can is a spray foundation but the difference is that this is a mineral foundation. It’s infused with aloe, moisturizing vitamins and botanicals. As the company says, “Everything you love about minerals plus the moisture you need.” It comes in 10 different shades and on the website there’s a Makeup Match so that you can send them the information about your current foundation and find out which shade is best for you. I wear this in Bare (for comparison sake I’m usually a MAC NW15, Armani 2, or the lightest to second lightest cool shade in a line.). Â Bare is for pale, light, pink-undertoned skin.
If you look at the ingredients listed at the bottom of this post you’ll see that water is main ingredient. AeroMinerale is oil free. Â Even though it’s a spray, it is “green”. There are no harmful VOCs so it doesn’t contain ozone depleting chemicals.
What you need to know with AeroMinerale, as well as the other two foundations created by Classified Cosmetics, is that you have to really shake this. REALLY shake it! I store mine upside down but every once in a while I flip it back over. When I’m ready to use it I get some exercise going. You need to mix the pigments with the water and other ingredients to get the true finish. You can then spray it on your face using a zigzag motion but please remember that you don’t need to spend a lot of time doing that. It covers quickly. Just spray once and you are done. I then pat it with a velour puff while it’s setting. To be truthful though, I’m now using my Beauty Blender sponge to apply it. I shake it up in the same way but then I spray it on the back of my hand. I bounce my dampened pink egg on the foundation then do my bouncing act on my face. It takes seconds to create perfection. Sometimes I’ll set it with a finishing or blot powder, depending on the weather.
They also sell other wonderful water based products like a primer, highlighters and bronzers which will be reviewed in the future. You can purchase these at a variety of stores like Duane Reade, some CVS stores, some Meijers and drugstore.com where I get mine.
Do yourself a favor and shake it up baby. — Marcia
