Evo was a line completely new to me when I received the products. They are an Australian company with gorgeous, high-quality products while delivering a bit of humor at the same time! Although I find Australian humor to be cheeky and fun, it is also a bit confusing to me as well. To see what I’m talking about, hop on over to their site at www.evohair.com and read through some of the style guides, they are hilarious! Better yet, I have provided a link to one of my personal favorites! At the end I’m promise you’ll be googling Jenny Kee!! http://www.evohair.com/style-guide/volume/texture/mary-p
The press kit for the line has the following to say about these products:
Evo® is an innovative, professional hair and beauty product manufacturer with individuality and integrity; a manufacturer that speaks the truth. Born from a desire to produce an exclusive salon range, evo steps outside the normal realm of truth-stretching invention in a ‘wake up and smell the coffee’ crusade of twisted honesty – designed to make people think. And so comes the catch phrase – saving ordinary humans from themselves. Inside bottles of evo that are bursting with personality, you’ll find luxurious products that are sulphate, paraben, DEA, TEA andpropylene glycol free; products that give professional results while respecting the environment.
Evo Ritual Salvation Shampoo and Ritual Salvation Conditioner
“Your hair is your friend, treat it right and you’ll be on your way to mastering your destiny and becoming that person you always dreamed of being…”
“…your hair is like a lover, ignore it and it will run off, shag your best friend and be sewing alfalfa sprouts into your new leather couch before you’ve had time to take your house key back.”
The above lines adorn the front of the shampoo and conditioner bottles! How does one sew alfalfa sprouts into a couch? See what I mean about Australian humor being confusing! Since I just had a Brazilian Blowout done a few weeks ago and I’ve found the life of my BB depends greatly on my commitment to the BB products, I asked my husband to review these for me. My husband is not a normal guy when it comes to hair care products. He is something of a product snob which I assume has to do with my haircare obsession! He is in his early-to-mid-forties and has a nice, full head of hair (no male pattern baldness going on here)!! His hair is very dark brown that I swear is black in some lights with the most beautiful sprinkling of gray strands running through it. Can I stop for a moment and question why gray hair on a woman typically ages her while gray hair on a man makes him look dashing and sophisticated? So. Not. Fair. Anyhoo, within this past year he has started to wear it a bit longer than normal. We’re not talking Brad-Pitt-Legends-of-the-Fall-long, but more along the lines of Richard-Gere-gracefully-aging-long. In order to tame a couple of wild waves he has going on, his hairdresser runs perm solution through his hair every 2-3 months – or as my husband puts it “she napalms me”! He also swims for exercise at a local spa in a heavily chlorinated pool 3-4x per week. This has left his hair dried, parched and crispy. He and I have the same hairdresser and I receive regular lectures from her about the condition of his hair. No amount of conditioning products seemed to help. Enter Evo!! After about 3 days of daily use, he came to me post-shower and asked me to feel his hair. It was as soft and silky as it was before he started swimming and getting napalmed! I asked him to describe the products to me so that I could extract a review out of him.
This is what he had to say: The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to identify which was the shampoo and which was the conditioner. Most products I borrow/steal from my wife have too many words on them and I just want to quickly identify WHICH is the shampoo and WHICH is the conditioner, I don’t want to read seven lines of text! The shampoo and conditioner both smell clean and fresh, they don’t smell either overly girl or masculine, perfect for a unisex shower. The shampoo is creamy consistency rather than a clear one and lathers nicely. A flat nickel size is enough to lather the whole head. The conditioner is a little on the thick side but a little bit goes a long way. Only a pea-sized amount is necessary to condition. The first thing I noticed when I first used the products was how soft my hair was after just the shampoo.
He is now about 10 days into the products and he just can’t stop raving about them! He asked me to order both the shampoo and conditioner for him since he is about 2/3 done with the generous sample sizes we were provided.

Evo End Doctor Smoothing Sealant
“Slightly possessed, uncontrollable, wild and spinning while simultaneously vomiting and pronouncing your good name backwards into the fires of stylistic hell? And that’s before you noticed it was all coming apart at the ends. As you might of guessed, the above is the humorous line adorning the front of the bottle of this product. It is recommended as a “strand strengthening crème to enhance curls, protect from heat damage and bring into line the strays breaking away from the pack”.
It is recommended for curly, wavy and dry, chemically-treated hair. I have been using it as a leave-in conditioner, applied by rubbing in a dime size amount into my hands and applied to my ends and the rest to the top unruly layers. The texture of this is similar to Sebastian’s Potion No 9, but with a very nice, clean and fresh smell to it. It is somewhat slippery in texture and preps my hair nicely for a blowdry. It leaves my hair soft and silky without weighing it down. This is something I would definitely purchase!
