My new bestie Eddie has done it again! I first fell for him when I tried some of his fab cosmetics for the eyes (read my review here–the mascara is GENIUS!). After getting a taste of the line, I quickly became an addict in search of my next fix and the Eddie Funkhouser Chromographic Lip Color ($11.99) left me feeling high on pucker power! According to the website:
“Chromographic Lip Color saturates lips with vibrant hues and light reflecting particles for a creamy finish and eye-catching multi-dimensional effects.”
Girls–Eddie don’t lie. These are light, extremely creamy and über hydrating which I love! They are so hydrating, there is no need for primer or a lip balm underneath. It seems no matter how much I try to exfoliate or condition my lips, I always have lines in them and it makes me feel old so I am grateful that this lipstick is so creamy. I don’t need lip liner either; EF Chromographic Lip Color glides on lips effortlessly.
Kiki is a color rich coral pink, though with my coloring the pink is more predominant. What I love about this shade is that it is neutral–it doesn’t pull too cool or warm making it a universally flattering shade! I just love the soft, cushion-y feel and how it easily it applies. When I hear the name Kiki, I immediately think of Kiki Dee and the song she recorded with Elton John “Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart.” Yes, I’m old–if you are under 40, Google it youngsters. While the song isn’t a classic, Kiki is and I can’t guarantee that you won’t break some hearts while wearing this lipstick!
Skinny Dip is one a very few nude shades I can wear without looking like the undead. It is a beigey pink with the teeny tiniest bit of frost. It works naked (heh, heh get it?) or layered with another shade. I like to wear it as a base under Love Rush (below). The finish on these lipsticks is perfection! I would call it a satin; they are so rich there is a bit of shine without looking glossy–very classic and elegant.
Love Rush is one of 12 Hyperreal Hydrating Lip Glosses ($10.99) . Isn’t it sweet that Eddie knows my passion for coral? These glosses are light, low-tack and hydrating. There is plenty of pigment and a nice shine without looking too wet. The soothing and hydrating ingredients in this gloss include Aloe Vera and Vitamins E, C, and A. Glosses that aren’t sticky typically don’t stick around for long and while I wouldn’t say this is long-lasting, you won’t have to apply every hour on the hour either. I’m in love with the pretty peachy coral shade and light texture.
