My December Ipsy Glam bag arrived early this month! I wasn’t expecting it until the end of the month so that makes it a bit more special. Each month, Ipsy subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag filled with 4 to 5 sample or full-sized beauty products (makeup, skincare, haircare, and nailcare) that are curated just for you. The December theme is “Celebration.” There is always something to celebrate–misc. firsts, learning something new, a big project completed and of course the ever popular just because. The bag itself is cute–it’s shiny quilted black patent leather with a raised design and a red interior. Pretty cute and I have to say one of my favs. Now on to the good stuff!
Here is what was in my December bag:
Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio (Naturally Bare) ($7) – I love that Ipsy really listens to your preferences. These shades are perfect for my baby blues and for my skin tone. Others got the grey version of this trio. Never trying much from Pop Beauty I wasn’t expecting a lot out of this trio, but I am happily surprised! The shadows are soft and smooth with no gritty feeling. There is a pretty pale gold, a lovely peachy bronze and a brown taupe. The shimmer is very subtle and completely appropriate for us over 40 gals. Color me pleased!
Be A Bombshell The One Stick (Sunset) ($16): This is an all-in-one shadow, lip gloss and cheek tint. You are supposed to be able to apply to eyelids, cheeks or lips. I gotta say beauties, there is no way I would use this stick on my eyes! Sunset is a peachy coral with shimmer: it looks like a cream version of NARS Orgasm. It’s a little shimmery for my taste, however, it will work well at holiday time and I do appreciate the shade selection, it matches my skin tone well.
Ardell Natural Lashes ($5) – I hate to admit this but I am terrified of false eyelashes! I WANT to wear them so badly but I am such a klutz I’m afraid they will end up on my cheek or eyebrow or some other gawd awful place. I’m a bad beauty blogger I know!! I WILL overcome my fear and try these and let you see how I fared. Pinky swear!
J.Cat Beauty The Big Lip Pencil in Caramel Mocha ($4) - I love lip crayons and was jazzed about trying this new brand. It’s creamy and easy to apply, though I do wish it was a twist up. It needs be sharpened and that’s always a pain, especially with thick crayons. Caramel Mocha is a peachy opaque nude with good coverage and a stain finish. Me likey!
Mini Starrily Nail Polish in BZZZZ BZZZ ($5) – this is a mini bottle. It’s an over coat with gold, silver and black confetti. I’m not a nail blogger so I don’t know the correct term for these sprinkles. I swatched it on it’s own and over a pretty red polish. BZZZZ is fun for the holidays and I think it would look great over more nontraditional colors like yellow, teal or coral the rest of the year.
Bottom Line: I’m thrilled again this month with my Ipsy bag. It’s the only beauty subscription I’ve kept for more than a few months and you really get your money’s worth. This month’s bag has a value of $37 which is actually one of the lower priced bags but still well worth $10! If you decide to sign up for the Ipsy Glam Bag, please do me a favor and use my link here–I will get points which will help me get free goodies. Then you can do the same and on and on it goes
P.S.- this would make an awesome holiday gift–a nice surprise for someone every single month!!!
