It’s never too soon or too late to start a good skincare regimen. However, as we age, the traditional 3-step cleansing toning and moisturizing may not be enough. After 40, our skin loses elasticity, collagen and moisture so we need to incorporate additional “weapons” to our skincare arsenal to keep skin healthy and youthful.
StriVectin SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles ($139) provides hydration in a powerful anti-aging treatment. After numerous patents and years of extensive clinical research, this re-engineered formula is even more potent than the original with more collagen boosting peptides and NIA-114. Discovered in DNA skin cancer research, NIA-114 accelerates the rebuilding of skin layers. Just what we over 40 need to rejuvinate our skin!
StriVectin also packed this new formula with wrinkle busters such as Resveratrol, apple stem cells from a rare Swiss apple, ceramides and sodium hyaluronate, Peppermint adds a nice cooling effect.
You will notice the texture of this cream is different from others. I found it to be thicker and a little more difficult to absorb, you will need to massage this in more than other anti-aging creams. I applied in the morning and evening, targeting the lines on my forehead and my nasolabial folds by spending a bit of extra time massaging it into those areas. I also rubbed it around my crows feet but quit doing that after about 2 weeks because the area got too dry. for me, I have to use a good moisturizer on top or my skin dries out. If you have normal or oily skin, you’ll be fine, but if your skin is slightly dry to dry, you may want to use a moisturizer on top of this treatment as I did.
After approximately three weeks, I have noticed that my nasolabial folds are slightly less deep and a little more “plumped.’ My skin feels very soft and smooth and I really like the cooling effect the peppermint provides. There is a definite scent to the cream–a mix of peppermint and a slight chemical smell. It’s fine for me, I only mention this if you are sensitive to smells it could be an issue.
Don’t let the price scare you, the tube is a full 5 fl. oz, whereas most anti-aging treatments are at least that price for only 1. fl.oz. StriVectin SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles should last you the better part of a year so it is actually very affordable.
I can’t wait to see the positive changes the following weeks will bring!
