Kudos to Cate Blanchett for being brave enough to be featured on the cover of Intelligent Life magazine without any photo retouching. The 42 year old star looks fabulous in my opinion and sure makes me feel better about myself (especially my peach fuzz). What are your thoughts?

She is lovely. Why would they need to airbrush her
Agreed!
Yes , she looks gorgeous and ‘brave’ to have done such close up shot.
I agree!
I’m pleased a celeb has done this as constant airbrushing is so unrealistic. She looks gorgeous as she is, without any retouching.
I agree, I need to know what she’s doing! She does ads for SKII maybe that’s her secret?
She’s most likely been vigilant about use of SPF and skincare her whole life (of course, as my husband added, “It doesn’t hurt to live in a place where the sun never shines!” lol…). I think she is stunning and I HOPE that this starts a new trend to go “unretouched.”
She reportly uses SKII skincare. I think she looks fabulous too!
It’s a sad state of society today when women are commended as being “brave” for having an un-retouched photograph, but that is what an airbrush- & edit-happy beauty industry has been leading us to since its emergence.
But, compared to other stars who would likely insist on airbrushing, she is one of the brave ones.
I think Cate Blanchett is one of the most beautiful people I’ve seen, and I’m glad she chose to go un-airbrushed for this cover–it would be brilliant if other actors and actresses followed suit so women can be reminded that YES, peach fuzz is normal, YES fine lines happen, & so forth, but not to be ashamed of it. Aging happens but it doesn’t mean it has to detract from someone’s beauty. We just need to continue encouraging smart skin care, which means sunscreen, making sure to stay hydrated with water, and avoiding unhealthy habits like smoking.
