butter LONDON Rock Your Colour Collection

butter LONDON launched its new Rock Your Colour cosmetics line last month in Ulta stores. The collection is chock full of brights with a few subdued shades thrown in for good measure. During my first look at the line I fell hard for the cream blushes (review here). I’m back with a look at the Wink Cream Eye Shadows and the fabulous Inky Six Nail Lacquer.

  • Alabaster Gaze – silver shimmer

  • Inky Six – baby blue shimmer
  • Indigo Punk – lavender shimmer

Most of the Wink Cream Eye Shadows are pastels. I had the opportunity to try Pistol Pink, a rosy pink and Inky six, a baby blue. Each has a lovely finish–not quite shimmer, but a pearl-like sheen. These cream shadows are thinner than I’m used to, but the good news is that the texture is buildable. You can apply lightly for a sheer wash of color or build them up for more intensity. The shadows set nicely and do not budge.

Application with these cream shadows is a bit tricky. The packaging comes with a doe foot but it’s not ideal for the lightweight textures of these shadows. I apply a thin wash, then apply another layer with a synthetic brush to even out the coverage.

For this look I applied Pistol Pink to the lid, and Inky Six in the crease. I lined with Laura Mercier’s Stone Grey and finished with Painted Earth LashLuxe mascara.

Packaging is the typical charming butter LONDON outer boxes with the darling prints. The cream eye shadows are housed in a tube with a doe foot applicator.

butter LONDON also has six nail lacquers in the collection.

Inky Six is a medium blue (not quite navy) glitter polish that is stunning! It is packed with beautiful deep blue and may be some green (?) glitter. Don’t be scared, it’s not chunky, it is very fine and not over the top–very refined. This will go on my Top Products of 2013, I can tell already!

This is two coats with a top coat–I definitely recommend a clear top coat–otherwise the polish looks quite matte and will dry rough.

Inky Six is the perfect transition shade from summer to fall. Leave behind the bright corals and pinks of summer and get ready to vamp it for fall!

Next I want to get Pistol Pink, Brown Sugar, Indigo Punk.

Is there anything in the butter LONDON Rock Your Colour Collection that catches your eye?

  • Lorraine

I love the way Inky Six looks on you- and I like that semi-matte texture, very on trend, punk rock! I picked this one up and layered it over a navy creme(Zoya Cynthia) and I gasped at the first coat. It is a very complex glitter, very luxe looking- reminded me of Lippmann Across the Universe when worn this way. I can see myself reaching for it often this fall/winter, maybe layering in a sheer navy or teal jelly sandwich. I hope you get the others- I would love to see your swatches of them, also!

    • Oh my gosh that sounds gorgeous, layered that way–I’m going to try it!
