Bring the Spa Home!

New Advances in Home Skincare Bring the Spa to You

Today’s post comes from Carleen at Beauty and Fashion Tech and her newly acquired fashion blog Just for Trendy Girls, which she is currently fixing up.

As our journey to the fountain of youth continues, technology has made major advances in home skincare. This has also been spurred by the recent lagging economy – many women still appreciate and desire quality skincare maintenance but have much less disposable income to spend of luxuries such as manicures, pedicures and facials. With new technologies bringing the spa treatments into the home, more women can pamper themselves on a regular basis in the comfort of their own bathroom. Popular brands are creating new and improved products to address major concerns for most women, from anti-aging to sun protection to acne control. Here are five of them:

Olay Pro-X Tone Correcting Protocol

The new toning regimen from Olay is a full system designed to address uneven skin tone and treat the five major causes:

1. UV exposure
2. Free radicals
3. Lack of hydration
4. Weak moisture barrier
5. Discolorations

The kit includes a spot fading treatment to correct existing trouble spots, a sheer daily moisturizer to prevent future damage and a brightening renewal cream to help restore skin tone and maintain a healthy glow.

UltraCleanse Home Microdermarbrasion and Sea Salt Scrub Kit

The Home Microdermabrasion and Sea Salt Scrub Kit from UltraCleanse is a great tool at an affordable price. It offers the ability to perform fantastic facial treatments for a fraction of the cost in your own home – cleaning pores, exfoliating, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel

For those concerned with anti-aging, the eyes are often a troublesome spot. The REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel is a perfect solution. This cooling gel will brighten and revive eyes using high-tech ingredients for lasting and immediate effects.

Tria Laser Hair Removal 4X

Many women struggle with unsightly body and facial hair and pay for regular visits to the spa to have this removed. New advances have made products for hair removal much more effective and long lasting. The Tria Laser Hair Removal 4X system provides permanent hair removal at home using laser technology for the face and body. Another good option is the Silk’n Flash and Go. Here is a Flash and Go review, along with a Flash and Go v. Tria comparison.

Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Polish Remover Wipes
The new nail care line from lifestyle and beauty retailer, Crabtree & Evelyn offers beautiful and lasting colors and products for a perfect at home mani/pedi. For those who are sensitive to the drying effects of traditional nail polish removers, Crabtree has developed a soy-based formula that emits little to no vapor. For the woman who loves to look her best without spending a fortune, new technology continues to make it easier to bring the spa home. Watch for this trend to continue and look for more products and accessories from your favorite brands.

  1. Great post! Lately I don’t have the money anymore to go to a spa, so doing it at home is a great alternative :-)

  2. Spas are so expensive! I’ve actually invested in one of the better epilators, a Braun, its incredible and has saved me so much :) It does hurt, (at first!!) but you get used to it! Love your blog. :)
