BECCA the brand that does neutrals best introduced three new nail colours with their fall Lost Weekend Collection and I have to say, along with the blushes, they are the standout of the collection. All three are creams and über shiny/glossy–so pretty! I think neutrals are so elegant and chic especially for fall.
- Billy Tea – a mid- brown taupe cream
- Toasted Marshmallow – a soft pinky brown cream
- Saddle Up! - a tan caramel
These polishes also dry really quick which is a plus and did I mention how shiny they are? We all know what a toasted marshmallow looks like but what the heck is Billy Tea? I did a little research and discovered it really is an Australian tea. Billy Tea is brewed in a billy or small can, tin or pot used on a campfire for boiling water/tea. So the term “billy up to the fire” basically means, “put the kettle on”. I tried all three on my hand and decided to go with Billy Tea for this weeks manicure–figures, I’ve never developed a taste for coffee, I’m a tea lover all the way.
BECCA claims their nail colours last at least 5 days and have a “self-leveling” formula for ease of application. I had no problems with streaking and two coats delivered plenty of pigment. The formula is TFCDF free; free from Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor and Di Butyl Phthalate. Currently BECCA only has 6 shades available–three from this summer’s Halcyon Collection and these three. I’m looking forward to the expansion of the colors!
