bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow – The September Issue

You beauties already know of my infatuation with the bareMinerals READY line, especially the eye shadows. This fall, the line is launching a beautiful READY eyeshadow palette aptly named The September Issue ($40).  As with all READY eye shadows  these are formulated with bareMinerals proprietary Sea Nutritive Mineral Complex with powerful antioxidants, cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber. These ingredients deliver anti-aging benefits that help reduce puffiness and give a smoother, revitalized appearance to the eye area.

The September Issue is right on-trend for fall with a well thought out mix of neutral and jewel tones. The quality is typical of all READY eye shadows–very pigmented, creamy in texture, and blendable.  The texture is so silky it feels more like a cream shadow than powder. There is a mini brush included with the compact which is actually quite useful.

The colors are:

Couture (glimmering clove) – Couture is a  medium brown with an olive green undertone and micro-fine gold shimmer. It makes a gorgeous crease color. Gorgeous, PERFECT, love, love love!

Silhouette (antique white) – Silhouette has a nice sheen to you with a very creamy texture. A great highlighter shade.

Statement (vibrant orchid) – Statement is a  matte reddish-purple shade with red micro-fine shimmer. It plays well with Glitterati and Tres Chic.  Don’t be afraid of how it appears in the palette, it’s fairly sheer. Try pairing it with silver or grey for a cool toned look with punch.

Prêt-à-Porter (sunbaked gold) – Probably my favorite of the palette, Prêt-à-Porter is a shimmery yellow-toned gold shade. It just gleams on the eye and looks fabulous with all eye colors. The texture is smooth and creamy.

Três Chic (apricot cream) – Três Chic is a matte peach shade that lends itself  to be used as a base shade or all over wash.  If you have any redness on your eyelids, this shade will even it out.

Editor’s Pick (metallic teal) – Editor’s Pick is a gorgeous shimmery teal shade. It doesn’t have a black base, so it  has a softer look. I love using this as a crease shade or blended  out in the outer third of the eye.  It also makes a nice subtle but colorful liner.

Glitterati (shimmering pink) – Glitterati is a soft pink with a very slight golden sheen. I paired this with the teal Editor’s Pick  for a soft, feminine look. It  makes eyes stand out and sparkle. It’s just an easy go-to lid color that works with any other shade.

Ensemble (deepest eggplant) -Ensemble is a matte eggplant. I found it to be a little patchy and not quite as creamy as the other shades. The shade is a true deep eggplant  as opposed to black or charcoal based and makes a terrific liner shade, especially for the over 40 woman–it’s not as harsh as black.

BE September Issue: Couture, Silhouette, Statement & Pret-a-Portet

BE September Issue: Tres Chic, Editor’s Pick, Glitterai, Ensemble

The  packaging is a sleek silver mirror finish. Having a reflective surface, it does collect fingerprints very easily, I just wipe it down every time I use it. I wanted to mention it in case it might bother some of you.

This look is Tres Chic on the brow bone, Pret-a-Porter on the lid and Couture in the crease.

Glitterati & Editor’s Pick

Overall Thoughts: All of the shadows in this palette have a buttery smooth texture, are easy to blend and well pigmented. The mix of shimmer and matte, neutral and jewel tones make The September Issue a great choice for a versatile fall eye shadow palette.  The included brush is  useful. At $40 for eight eye shadows, this is a great buy that you will reach for all fall and winter. AND as always, READY eye shadows have no parabens, binders, filler or harsh chemicals.
